Delta Upgrade Problems

I recently became Northwest Gold Elite and have a trip next week on Delta. When I log into Delta and look at my PNR is shows just a regular WorldPerks member. The ticket was booked after I became Gold. I called both NWA and DL...DL says that it takes 30 days once you become a Gold Elite for it to show in their system. I'm pretty sure this is not true. It won't let me stand by for upgrades until the day of, and if I need to do a day of departure change I am worried that they won't let me, or at least that it will be a pretty big hassle. To make matters worse, the agent at DL wrote on the top of my PNR "must wait 30 days for upgrades", which I know because I have a friend who works at DL ticket counter who told me this.

What should I do? I spent over 1.5 hours on the phone trying to fix this and they won't do anything about it. I suggested canceling my itinerary and reissuing it but the agent said no. I haven't received my Gold card in the mail yet so I don't have the WorldPerks elite number. Can someone please PM me the number and some suggestions.

Thanks

You just call the regular number and when you enter your WP number it will route you to the Gold line.

I don't know what the periodicity for NW-DL Elite status communication is.

In the vast majority of cases, DL only runs a 'sweep' to see if any of their own SM members earned status/higher status once a week (the only exception I'm aware of is people on a challenge for Medallion status). In other words, if you qualify to move from GM to PM on a Monday, you have to wait until Friday night/Sat am when they run the weekly sweep to have your PM status recognized.

Based on this, I'd assume DL wouldn't bother to sync up the Medallion/Elite status lists with NW any more frequently than once a week, and perhaps longer. 30 days might be longer than it really takes, but I'm sure there will be some time lag, and a couple of weeks wouldn't surprise me.

I've also had Delta CSR's call NW to confirm our status when it didn't show on their end.
