Platinum Guaranteed Upgrade Program

I checked nwa.com and saw that the Platinum Guarantee Upgrade Program no longer mentions this is only for the 2008 program year.. I could've sworn it was on there before.. If I'm right, does this mean that it's been extended indefinitely?..

Don't know if anyone has touched this subject yet..

cool, i thought this one was a goner for sure

Silence on the matter is not bliss though. It's there, but is it accurate?

Hey, if anyone receives 1000 Bonus Miles for not being seated in 1st, let us know..

Thanks

It's still working

I'm still receiving them (at least as of the week before last). Both on DL and NW metal.

you got it on DL metal???

I know I didn't get them on DL metal, nor did I get them on NW metal when flying on a DL ticket (credited to WP, of course)...

If on NW metal, you should get the 1000 miles. I have TTU'd in the case of DL ticketed flights to get the miles.

I thought I read that the 1000 mile bonus ended 2/28, but I'm not positive.

That's good to know. Wonder if they'll do it retroactively (this happened last year).

I flew MSP-LAX today and didn't get upgraded so will let you know if I get the 1000 unless someone lets us know before

mnredfox Mar 3, 2009 1:02 am

I got 1K two weeks ago for Feb 19th flight.

kkua Mar 3, 2009 6:00 am

NW flights purchased prior to 15NOV will be exempt from the 100% only rule. Check out the asterisk'd fine print on this link... http://www.nwa.com/worldperks/elite/mileage09.shtml

Sorry... wrong thread. My apologies.

So, I TTUd to see what the scoop was, and here is the response:

So, no go on DL operated flights, but anything NW operated seems to be ok.

I got them for a missed upgrade on 10 Feb 2009 for NW 3406, DTW-MDW.

Is this only for NWA PE's or all SM PM's? I have flown 15 segments on NWA this year, as a PM, but I have been upgraded all 15 times. It would be good to know if this rule would apply to everyone though. Everything that costs the flyers something seems to have been merged by now.

I think only for NWA PEs.

Has anyone seen them in March?

Ditto. That's the real question... do we get them for NW operated flights taken on March 1st or later? I suppose we will start hearing about this today-ish or in the next few days. Let us know, PE folks!

skowse Mar 4, 2009 6:35 am

I got the 1,000 miles guarantee posted this morning for my flight March 2nd MSP-LAX so I think what the TTU told GBadger appears to be true.

steevun Mar 4, 2009 9:35 am

Great, happy to see that this is staying!..

barfeld2 Mar 9, 2009 3:29 pm

Got it for a flight on March 5: LGA-MSP

Just a reconfirmation that it's there.
