I see that the bones of the site are up. When will it be completed? I applaud the effort by the volunteers.

Well, several FT'ers have offered up help, myself included.
We lost a lot of steam when WP took a different stance on the award re-deposit fee. However, that being said, we still do have several battles to fight. If anyone would like to offer up help... PM me and I'll add you to the committee mailing lists. |
Correct me if I'm wrong, but NWA did not rescind the award fee redeposits/reissues, they just gave us 2 free changes (and will charge $50 for additional changes), is that correct?

Is it free changes for two trips, or free changes for two changes? If you make one change to a trip, have you just used up one change?
I'm hearing even CO is offering unlimited changes, as long as it's 21 days out, and isn't changing the origin, destination, or dates of travel. That's seems fair, if you booked a connecting flight and a direct flight becomes available, or you booked unfavorable times and favorable times become available. |

Don't forget that they took away our Gold/Platinum Companion Upgrades at the gate!

Delta offers companion upgrades to Platinum, Gold and Silver Medallions (but companions must be on a K fare or higher) It is however taking away the NW Plat Confirmed Companion upgrade, but I dont think Golds will notice much of a difference (except for the companion minimum fare class rule). |

NWA has *NOT* discontinued Platinum confirmed companion upgrades of travelers in the same reservation, and has not instituted any fare class restrictions.
NWA *HAS* discontinued the Plat/Gold at-airport standby companion upgrade of anyone. |
Correctamundo... however the thing that peeves me off to no end is that a BENEFIT for NW Elites is being cut, while a similar benefit for DL Elites is being added... :td:

Another great way Delta is destroying the program. |

That is a big minus for me. On several occasions, like next month, I meet up with a companion somewhere en route then we travel to our destination from there. So by definition we are never in the same reservation/PNR. So no chance for a companion gate upgrade which is too bad.
Another great way Delta is destroying the program. Although not so much with all the DL elites crawling all over our flights. Missed my upgrade ATL-MSP last week. :( |

Sadly, I am voting withn my feet. In 2008 I had almost 190K Delta MQM's. Based on my booking pattern that I converted to one month ago, I will have MAYBE 22-25K MQM's with DL this year. A number of years ago I was a NW Gold. What DL is doing is an exact duplication of how Doug has destroyed US. But, since US has not yet died (but trust me, it will within 18 to 24 months from now), DL is duplicating them due to lack of strategic foresight and ability. Parker and Anderson have both mistakenly assumed that size (and disconnection from their primary revenue source...passengers) can save them from fatality.
So, I and everybody I talk to is now undertaking an approach to teach them a lesson and also to destroy them if necessary from a brand and revenue standpoint. Because DL has not had the courage or the brains, while their fuel bill is right now 46% lower than one year ago (http://www.iata.org/whatwedo/economi...itor/index.htm), to connect with and treat their best customers like gold while making nothing but improvements for that group, they deserve their mortality. Several of us have met with 2 state Attorney's General and 3 other staff members, and a group of us are continually monitoring, documenting, and assembling evidence to either keep Delta both ethical and honest, or to teach them a lesson after their errors. The biggest reason is to prevent them from having lied during their merger application review process, which nearly all evidence currently existing indicates that they did both purposefully and knowingly lie with an intent to deceive. That explains most of why Jeff Robertson has been lying on FT. The technical term is "monkey see, monkey do". Nothing personal though! Anne |

I ran across a link to another site, www.deltareallysucks.com on another travel-related site.

It's mindboggling* how many Google hits there are for "Delta sucks". At one point my own "Delta Sucks" blog (http://dlsucks.blogspot.com) was the 671st Google hit for "Delta sucks". I can usually get new sites into first 10-20 hits rather quickly, but this is going to take some effort.
*but not surprising: Delta ranked 17th of 19 for overall consumer complaints for all of 2008. There are lots & lots of people out there who want to tell us that Delta sucks. There's also so much new material for the blog (& its UA companion) that it's hard to keep up. I still have to post yesterdays finds from Google News. |
