Help:

I purchased a ticket to travel to Orlando and now need an additional ticket but no more seats on this flight so:

1. could get another ticket via FF miles for myself since I am flexible other traveler is not and thought they could take my ticket....NO can't change my ticket to their name

2. Gett WP ticket for me and other person and keep $ ticket for another trip later..

any ideas?

You're alleging that you can't buy a ticket with cash, but you can get one with miles? That seems.... odd.

One option is that the other person takes an earlier flight and just waits for you to show up.

If you try route #2, be aware of limitations on the ability to use the money for a later trip (change fees, etc.).

I think the previous poster's suggestion of taking different flights and meeting at the airport sounds like a good option.

Punch your desired itinerary into a site like sidestep.com, take the best option available for pax #2 and meet up in the bar at the Orlando airport.....

per post #2 ~ odd, indeed ;) ... however:
*IF* that is the case, OP should remember that he can use his miles to 'gift' an award ticket to the pal.

Change fees, etc ~ agreed: troublesome.

I don't think that's what they are alleging. What they are saying is that they are flexible and could take a different flight using miles. This would leave the purchased ticket for the other person but as you cannot change the name on a purchased ticket that doesn't really help them. Also as the other person isn't as flexible, getting them a FF ticket on a different flight doesn't work for either.

About the only option other than hoping a seat opens up is to buy a ticket on a different flight that is as close as possible to the OP's flight.
