PARS Computer System...Northwest Airlines...question

My father works for Northwest so I have access to the internal computer system, PARS. I can look up flight loads, flight status, flight waitlists, etc. The system I can view is very simple and only has a few buttons.

There is a part of the system that says you can use original PARS commands. I used to know them, but haven't used them in a long time.

Does anyone know any PARS commands or where I can find instructions for PARS? I just want to play around with it a bit.

I am NOT trying to get privileged info or anything...I want to make that clear. If you don't want to reply on this thread, you can PM me...although I have never used PM on flyertalk.com before.

Thanks in advance!!

Not to be "that guy" who freaks out on the subject...but what exactly entitles you to access?

I guess I am not technically "entitled"...but, for example, I look up flight loads and waitlists for my father while he is flying as a nonrev...while he is at an airport without computer access.

I hope you aren't one of "those" policing this site...I have run into a lot of bossy and arrogant people on here.

+1. I'm sure you wouldn't want your father disciplined by NW-DL for providing his ID/PW out to an unauthorized user (you) either. I'm talking about discipline up to, and including, termination. I'm not in the airline biz (IT) but everyone is taking data and system security very, very seriously these days.

Best for you to talk directly to your Dad on this before going any further.

I do work for NWA, and I remember a very harshly worded email from management about giving others your username and passord for the system. He can be fired over it. I would not go posting it on this site of all places as that is the fastest way to get cought.

I think the mods should close this thread!

Lord, people!! Get a hold of yourselves. Close the thread, I could care less. This site is full of twinks and goody-goodys. I'd close the thread myself if I knew how or cared to spend the time to learn how.

This site is full of RESPONSIBLE people who do not want to get your father fired. We like to maximize our benefits from flying...but we like to do it within the rules.

Also, no one is "policing" this site. We actively encourage NW and other airlines to participate, in order to hopefully establish positive relationships between the airlines and some of their best customers.

Safe travels and happy new year.
