Consolidated DL/NW Concourse & Gate Changes at Airports Worldwide Thread
No surprise here but didn't see this posted (otherwise, tell me and I'll merge):

Looks like we can say goodbye to the LAX WC and any dreams of seeing that particular club in 2nd gen form.
EDIT: nwa.com now has a complete list of airport concourse changes: http://www.nwa.com/merger/airports/
At LAX, Delta said it planned to move Northwest flight operations from Terminal 2 on the north side of the airport to Terminal 5 on the south side by June.

This will be really nice if CO is still in Skyteam then. I tend to fly CO out to LAX a lot to catch the NW 744 to NRT... I really hated having to exit the terminal, walk across the parking lots, and then reclear security to get to NW or vice versa.

I am going to miss the WC. Well, truth be told, just the self-serve bar. And I imagine the CRC will be more crowded now...

T2 was absolutely no fun at night when the TACA flight(s) (pretty sure its TACA beside NW...maybe is LACSA, but anyway) were checking in.... try getting from the NW ticket counter to the security checkpoint then... UGH! The lines at the TACA counter spill out and take up the entire walkway plus the sidewalk outside... I ended up walking in the street to get around it one night before a NW redeye.

Haven't been to the CRC in LAX, but the WC was a bit weak. On the other hand, I have yet to encounter real food at a CRC, so I guess that's better than nothing.
LAX does have a pretty liberal elite security line - Gold will get you past the rif-raf, maybe even Silver.

I may be wrong, but it seems as if I have read somewhere throughout the years that NW owns or has an vested equity interest in Terminal 2.
Does T5 have Customs/Immigration? Or is the NRT flight going to have to dock at TBIT, or somewhere else?
My first experience through T5 was in October. I never knew there was airside tunnel connector between T5 and T6. It was a long, boring walk to T6, but I was able to access the CO PClub and get free internet!
The desk agents at the CRC are great, but the bar staff sucks. Both of my trips through it was staffed by Spanish speaking women that made it seem as if you were interupting their conversation to have them make a drink (i.e. do their job).

Good riddance to the T2 club. Except for the staff, I always had decent luck with them.

what's the size of the T5 CRC? I've been in the LAX WorldClub during incredibly busy times... I wonder if the Delta's club has enough real estate to handle the same amount of traffic? And does this mean the LAX WorldClub agents are going to get the heave-ho?

Also, the security screening at T5 has first class lanes for initial ID screening and baggage screening. It takes lots of time off the wait if you hit the place during a busy time.
And yes, there is a shower. However, you may end up on a waitlist for it. When I tried I was last on the list. The person ahead of me took a loooooong time in there, so I missed out.

good riddance! that line outside of T2 for a redeye was a nightmare. sure there was an elite line *UPSTAIRS* but you had to wait for ages to get past the idiot security guards downstairs to get to that line.
on another note, if NW is moving to T5, does that mean that AF will be moving there as well? a lot of the T2 pax late at night are on the TACA and AF flights.

So what about Air France and China Southern? Who else used the T2 WC?
Can't imagine AF without a club at LAX.
