Ehh, decent... definitely better than the link posted on the last page.
I still wish they could have kept the NW brand for the TPAC routes... red tails should be the only thing going that direction... sigh. Any Delta mgmt people out there? Please listen! :) |

IMO, Delta should definitely use the names/brands of WorldPerks, WorldClub amd World Business Class; They sound more global, more enticing, more contemporary and more unique than Skymiles (Talking about what a generic brand here), Crown Room (Are we still in the 19th century?), and Business Elite (Even more generic )
Any Delta mgmt people out there? Please listen! :) Is there any connection with DL and a crown? Was it ever part of their logo? At least KL has had the crown on their logo since I the company was started. |

Not that bad once you remove the double line running the length of the plane. Much better than the initial picture anyways. Wouldn't it nice if they kept the winglets red?

Too late. It's already in the planning. Delta will have their first Skyteam Alliance painted aircraft on one of its 767.

Delta Name
Hi,
Maybe this has been discussed elsewhere, but a quick search on my part didn't get good results (and I know you guys are great and pointing me in the right direction.) But here is a simple question. Where did Delta get it's name? From New Orleans? From the Greek? The Delta web site, heavens! doesn't help. Cheers, Pogopossum |

From Wikipedia: "The company has its roots in Huff Daland Dusters, which was founded on May 30, 1924 in Macon, Georgia, by several partners including Collett E. Woolman becoming the world's first aerial crop dusting company. Huff Daland moved to Monroe, Louisiana the following year. On September 13, 1928, Huff Daland Dusters was purchased by C.E. Woolman and renamed Delta Air Service after the Mississippi Delta, where its route connected Dallas, Texas to Jackson, Mississippi, via Shreveport and Monroe." (emphasis mine) |

As a kid who loved watching airplanes I did wonder why there's a crown above the aircraft type designation on the tail of the DC-7 and CV-880. There has to be a story (reason) on the use of crown on aircraft and lounge name. Perhaps some Delta buffs can enlighten us on this subject. |

I agree about the WorldClub and WBC but not so sure about WorldPerks. If you mention WorldPerks to a non FF they wouldn't even know it is a frequent flyer program. SkyMiles is easily identified as such.
You know, I disagree with this. This was a merger than was only very slightly tilted in the Delta direction. It was nearly a merger of equals. Many, many employees from NW are going to gain management positions at the new DL. Having said that, yes, it is an ATL based airline with top management former DL employees but don't forget Oscar's roots. IMHO, here is the ranking (purly on the name, not anything else): AAdvantage = WorldPerks > OnePass > Dividend Miles > SkyMiles > Mileage Plus |
