Minimum miles question

Hello, just quick question from a newbie that I hope you can help me with. I`m currently a Flying Blue card holder and I`m looking to fly NRT-ICN in the near future on Northwest.

Do Northwest flights all earn 100% of the miles? I think 500 miles? or like KLM/Air France nonsense, certain tickets only earn 25% depending on the class? If so, what classes earn 100% miles?

Thank you

I did a search but couldnt find my answer. Apologies if it`s a repeat question

My understanding is that all revenue flights earn at least 100%, except for those "cash and miles" deals. And if the flight is less than 500 miles, you get the minimum of 500 miles.

The reason for the "at least" is that if you have earned an elite status there are bonuses beyond the 100%.

If you have an account on another Sky Team member like Delta, you can put that number in instead and get the miles credited to that account.

(Note that Continental Flights only give 50% miles when you fly on them and ask for NW miles.)

NW pays 100% mileage for ALL "regular" paid tix - as far as I know! My question would be - - What does FB pay - - as AF cheaper tix only earn 25% when accruing to WorldPerks! Just a tidbit of information . . .

When I eMailed NW about this last year as I had bought 2 VERY cheap AF tix VERY early, I was told the reason for the newly discounted mileage accrual is because AF will not allow NW members to earn more mileage on AF flights than their own FB members earn for the same flights.

Also - NW Mileage Calculator shows 636 miles from NRT/ICN but Flying Fish shows 783. That's a pretty big difference! Usually they're within a few miles of each other.

The problem is that I think NW doles out mileage based on "their own" "Mileage Calcualtor"

The AirFrance site says economy ticket flights on NW earn 100% of mileage for FlyingBlue, EXCEPT class V which earns 25%. (Higher % for elites)

Hope this link works:

But read that fine print and listen to those other posters! I don't personally have any direct experience with Flying Blue (and clearly didn't read your question well the first time - sorry).

Normally they seem to be at or very close to the calculator, but if you get 636 I'd contest that mileage, I don't see how all three of the normally accurate sources plus your normally accurate source can all be wrong and NW's correct.

EDIT: Even ST downloadable schedule lists 782:

From Seoul Incheon KR ( ICN )
To Tokyo Narita JP ( NRT )
Depart ***
Departure Time 1105
Arrive ***
Arrival Time 1325
Distance 782 mi 1251 km
Duration 2h20m

..and Reservations says:
PHP Code:

Northwest Airlines 7 Equipment: A330 Fare basis code: HJXSL6
Depart: 6:50 PM Tokyo (NRT) Arrive: 9:45 PM Seoul (ICN)
Approx. flight miles: 740 Duration: 2 hr 55 min

The discrepancies between Calculator, Reservations, and Posted-earnings have been hammered out in these threads repeatedly.
Fortunately, the final posted numbers always seem to match or exceed the numbers available elsewhere -- and you *know* that, for a common route like NRT-ICN, if some FTer felt shorted by as much as -1- mile, there'd be hell to pay!!

As always, don't count your chickens 'til they're posted, but I'd think this is the least of your worries.
