How Quick do Miles Post
 

I'm currently a Delta SkyMiles member and they are posting miles for flights within 12 to 24 hours of the flight. How long does it take for Alaska to post miles as I may become a member for some flights I need to take.

I'm lost to what the question is. Are you asking how long does it take for a NW flight post to you DL account? I don't know personally but it took 5 days for everything to be processed by NW for my Hawaiian Airlines flight to post to my NW account.

The word is "quickly."

My experience is that Alaska flights post to NW WP accounts on Thursdays...but only if your flight was up until the Tuesday before.

In other words, all flights from Wednesday (day 1) thru Tuesday (day 7) will post the following Thursday (day 9).

Ok my question is. How long does it take for Northwest Airlines to post mileage to the Northwest account. Is it fast as Delta who is almost real-time.

If you are flying on NW metal, I would say on average 1 to 2 days after flights are completed.

If you are flying on NW partners it can sometimes take a few days but usually without issue. Other delays can be caused by upgrades or a change in flight numbers for example,

If you are flying on Northwest metal, the frequent flier numbers are recorded on a passenger manifest. This manifest is then processed and FTP'd (transmitted) the 2nd midnight after the flight departed. NW will receive then process the data and update the passengers account.

So...basically, if you fly on a Monday, you'll see the miles on Wednesday.

Delta is clearly the leader among U.S. programs for fast posting of its own flights. NW to Worldperks is good - better than AA to AAdvantage - but not Delta speed.

Here's one for you.

Fly DL/CO a lot and always post to NW account. Flew CO to IAH 1/25-1/27. 1/25 segment posted next day. 1/27 segment still hasn't posted. Not that I need the miles or the EQMs (only about 380 EQMs), just curious what everyone's opinion is here. Haven't had a missing flight segment in over 7 years.

Majority of flights post less than 48 hours depending upon your flight times as to when they sweep the manifests. Non-flight miles usually post pretty quickly. Mystery miles bonus was there 2/2, but still waiting for 600 mile bonus from holiday Mall promo to post (but the miles for the transaction posted the next day).

My CO flights usually post in about 3-4 days

All-NW (metal, flight number, etc) domestic should post the 2nd day after the flight, including some 1am red-eyes. So flights form 5am-1am should post on the 2nd calendar day. Should also work for NW metal/flights that are international, my DTW-FRA flights posted the 2nd day also.

Throw in code-shares, other metal, etc, and it's all up in the air. There's some predictability, yet also some oddities.

That's about right, but I dont accrue Miles on NW much anymore. I accrue them on KE Skypass, as I have over in Korea for a half a year on university exchange. I have also been a KE Skypass member from since Oct. 2006.. from then until i've accrued ~31,000 miles. of which ~23,500 miles were on KE. From past experience, the miles for KE were credited immediately at checkin and then adjustments made to the actual earned miles a few days after to adjust for the route and length of actual flight.I have accrued only one NW flight on KE Skypass, which was credited in about 2 days after the flight. NW WP, from what I rem. the flights took about 2-3 days to appear. That's cool with KE, when you check in, on the bottom of the boarding pass it shows a brief statement of your Freq. Flier account.. like how many segments flown, total banked miles, total actual "Remaining" balance and how many miles will be accrued for the flight
