Status rollover question
 
My wife had PLATINUM status last year but only hit GOLD for this year. We have reservations that were made last year (2003)to fly in early April 2004. Will the reservation, which was made when she was a Platinum, still show her as a Platinum? I ask this because if you move UP a notch in status you must call to update existing reservations to change your status--it is not done automatically. Does this mean reservations are also not downgraded automatically?

She will be listed as Gold on the reservation.

Take it from a poor SOB who, due to an unplanned leave of absence last year, ended up missing elite status and is stuck as a lowly base member for a few months!

You may be able to plead for silver if you can show that you will do at least 25K by 12/31.

How can you "show" NW that you will be doing at least 25K a year?

just give them reservation numbers, I have about 15,000 miles and have a nonrefundable ticket that will give me another 15,000 in a few weeks, so I called and they bumped me back to silver (I'm doing some short domestic trips between now and then, so I really wanted to be on the upgrade list!)
