Since I'm not an insider, I don't know, but if news release by Richard Anderson was an indicator of upgrade progression, I'd guess no. Richard Anderson indicated that they have halted further aircraft painting until end of summer due to the high aircraft utilization during the peak summer season. Similarly, I am thinking that similar decision has been made for refitting further 744 aircrafts with new WBC seats. I could be wrong, but it would make sense.

The AC you are on is not on my list of redone AC. However the list I have is dated MAy 25. I'll see what I can find out.

I was listening to the 7/21 conference call with the financial analysts last night, and somebody asked about the conversions. I don't believe they answered directly that anything was halted this summer, but the reply did say that 15 of the 16 744s will be completed in September.

Flying NW2 (as CO5002) on 9/14. Any idea about this aircraft yet? Of course it only makes a difference if by some chance I get an op-up.

MSP-NRT August 28?

Hi!

Any idea if MSP-NRT on August 28 will have the new WBC seats? Thanks so much!

Sitting in 73AB (my opinion - they are the best seats on that plane!) and very happy about it....

Sorry I didn't get you you guy's, I was on a 5 day 18 leg dc9 trip and just got home. Wow 30 hours in the air and 62 hourd on-duty in uniform in five days, I thought they only do that to convicts!

I am sure you found the answer by now, or you missed your flights. Fly safe, I'm going to bed.

NW 2, is a 747-200, the 200s will not get the new seats.

jjvan - nope they don't do it to convicts. Just the airlinkers. I start a 14 leg 4 day trip with 89 hours way from base tomorrow! And that's a rather unproductive one. We have some 28/29 hour 4 days floating around out there. I love the 24 leg 4 days!

Hoping to get in a new WBC seat next week!!!

I just flew on NW 20 from NRT-MSP yesterday. I must say I was really let down. Both myself and the guy sitting next to me had a hard time sleeping because we kept sliding down in the seat. Both of us just ended up putting the seat in somewhere between flat and upright and just kind of leaning over. It's better than some. But it's not what i expected. The FA said in the jumpseat in front of my seat said she had heard alot of complaints about the seats.

Yeah, learning to sleep in these seats takes some work. I've found that if I sleep on my side that it works just fine (though I normally sleep on my back so at first it feels odd to me.)

Someone on the way to Asia a few wks ago commented that they should put velcro on the seats & give the passengers velcro pjs.

So now that I've gotten used to the new seats they are just fine w/me. But I prefer to old intl 1st class seats. They weren't 'flat', but so what?

Btw, I find NW's new seat slightly more comfortable than CO's.
