Upgrade help requested

I am hoping to get some help from people on this board. I have been searching this time for the past hour or so and still have not found the answer to my question.

I would appreciate anyone who can at least point me in the right direction, I am not asking for anyone to repost information which can be found elsewhere.

I am planning a trip to Hawaii this August, and am trying to get another first class ticket. From my understanding, I can buy a coach ticket, and use WP miles to upgrade (17,500 miles OW), any fare with the exception of T & K. Do I understand this correctly?

My other question is about upgrade certificates. Are there certificates that can upgrade from coach to first to Hawaii? Is there a place where these are listed, or any suggestions to find out about the rules of a certificate without having one?

I appreciate any help given. I did do quit a bit of research before posting, and am not trying to post and ask a stupid, outrageous or redundant question.

Thanks!

Jennifer

Yes. Rules for Hawai'i upgrades can be found: http://www.nwa.com/freqfly/direct/charts/zone03.shtml
Seats are limited and you can use ITN to see if there are any F seats to upgrade into.

Unless you're a Plat elite with a lot of Plat points in this upcoming year or a Hawai'i resident with a valid Hawai'i Driver's License and home address, you're SOL on the upgrade certificates.

FWIW, these questions have been answered numerous times... perhaps try searching HNL Upgrade or HNL first next time.

aloha

Thank you for the quick response and answers!

I did do a number of searches, but not for HNL. Thanks for that suggestion, I will go and do that now to get an idea of all the possibilities.

Thanks again!
