does NW elite = continental elsite?
 

I flew enough NM miles in 2003 to achieve elite status. I have frequent occasion to go to Houston, and so use Continental as well. Does elite status on NM get me elite status on CO?

You won't hold elite staus on CO. CO will however honor your elite staus. IE EUA, elite lines etc....

But you will only get 50% NW eqm's flying CO
on lower fares

When I used to fly on CO, I never had the opportunity to use the CO Elite lines...

CO has treated me quite well as a NW elite on the 24 CO segments I flew in 2003, including processing my upgrades. However, keep an eye on the upgrade window, if you haven't been computer upgraded at the time you're due based on your status, call the NW elite line to get your upgrade on CO processed, if available.

And yes, you can use the CO elite ticket lines and elite boarding lines, no problem.

I regret the new 50% EQM rule on cheap fares for 2004, this will dissuade me from flying the convenient CO routes from SJC/SFO to the deep south.
