combining MCOs, TCVs

Looking for feedback on combining vouchers on a single ticket. I had 2 MCO's & 1 TCV I was trying to put toward a ticket for my daughter. 3 calls to the Plat line yielded the following:
1- all are combinable
2- you can combine any two
3- only 1 per ticket, & the names must match.

Once at the counter, the agent was able to get all 3 on the same ticket - my daughters !

These rules seem open to a fair amount of interpretation, but the more amazing thing was the speed with which the folks on the phone will tell you - with conviction & authority - their version of the rules.
When in doubt - call back ! Sound advice from FT !!!

The latest version of the TCV rules (2/03) state the following for dollar amount TCV's:

"3. This TCV document is not transferable and is only valid for the passenger named to be used toward the total purchase price of air transportation, including taxes, fees, and surcharges imposed on the air transportation. This TCV may not be combined with any other TCV(s). This TCV may be combined with a wholly unused ticket to purchase a new ticket provided the name on the TCV and the name on the wholly unused ticket are the same."

I know I've combined TCVs in the past, so either the agent didn't know this rule or the rules have been updated.

From the above, it sounds like there's a little wiggle room if you buy a ticket, cancel it, and combine the ticket's value (minus change fees) with the TCV.

Other than to say the difference between your ticket price and the value of the TCV will be issued in the form of an MCO, there's no mention of miscellaneous charge orders and whether they are combinable. Perhaps there's a set of rules I don't have.
