I'm glad I could help.

Unfortunately for my three in-laws, NW continued to blame Old Navy, and Old Navy refused to budge, resulting in no FFF3 bonus for any of them, despite considerable expenditure of time and money (buying miles to qualify, and then the partner activity.) It considerably soured our family's, and our many acquaintances', view of NW, and none of us participated in subsequent FFF promos.

Though a former multi-year CO Plat (and Presidents Club life member), then Gold, earned significantly on NW, since 2003 I've been a UA 1P. Maybe I'll give NW another chance, but I doubt my in-laws will.

If there is a lesson, it is to pick reliable WorldPerks Mall partners, get those partner credits early, and follow-through with online credit card statements to ensure that the card has been charged.

My advice is to always use the max credits they allow for dining for miles. It seems I never have had a problem with them posting. They post pretty quickly. Even if you are not up for eating out much right away go to a place you frequent and buy a gift certificate and it will still count as a dine.

It was my time of the year to get a new cell phone, I time it right every year to get FFF promo. This year, two credits! However, you have to sign up for two years. Nextel was this years choice (since last year was T-mobile). I went through the Northwest portal for Nextel on June 17. Got my phone, portabled by number, everything is great, but no miles posted. I contacted NW they told me to contact Nextel. I got a call today from Nextel. Not eligible because I did not sign up for service on Nextel.com or at a retail store or on the phone. HUH?????? Much screaming ensued on my part and my helpful representative at Nextel could only come up with the words "unfortunately". She would not allow me to talk to her supervisor, she would not let me talk to the "specialist" who decided I did not sign up for Nextel properly. I hate the phone I had to buy, I hate the service of Nextel, and I hate that this plan I had to buy for two years is so expensive! To add insult to injury NO POINTS!!!! I have contacted NWA and told them what Nextel had to say. I am not holding out much hope, but when my two long years of Nextel are up they will not have my business again. Ever.

Bobjobs,

You should double check to see if you have a "cooling off" period on the phones. California implemented a period, so you can back out of the deal without penalty (can't remember how long the grace period is?)

Good luck

As this is the thread for 2003, by now (two years later) you should be all set, bobjobs.

Otherwise, you may want to delete your post above.
