Missing feature of NWA.com (wish-list)
 

NWA.com would be the best airline website if.....

It allowed the ability for passengers to change their seats for reservations not booked on NWA.com. This feature needs to be available for all eticket reservations (a la Continental and American) for us biz travelers who book via a corporate website. I use this feature repeatedly and it would save me (and the airline) time from calling the WP desk.

Do you have any evidence or proof to back up your claim that NWA.com would be the best airline website should it allow passengers the ability to change their seats? AA.com already has this feature.

Once I LOGIN, I am logged in wherever I go on the web site instead of having to LOGIN again.

Ability to search for specific fare classes.

Ability to search for upgrades and upgrade with WP miles without calling CSRs.

Ability to search date ranges.

Ability to find any seats still available (between two points) for various sale fares.

this is kind of a cheesy one, but i'd like to see menu samples. i'd like to know whether or not i should eat before getting on the plane (unlike some, i don't think airline food is all that bad, unless, of course it's in Y) - also, i'm curious about the different meal choices. ideally, i'd like to eat the low carb meals in the air, but am hesitant about requesting them because i don't know what they are.

i'd also like to see a notice stating that they are retrofitting all their planes so any flight over 2 hours has some sort of in-flight entertainment.

EDITED TO ADD: The ability to use a PD or similar discount certificate and a TCV or MCO at the same time, online without have to deal with an telephone agent, mailing it in, or going to a CTO or going to the airport to ticket.

I'd like to be able to book my YHZ-LAX trips on nwa.com...

It tells me there are no NW/KL flights or codeshares on the route, ever though NW codeshares on CO's YHZ-EWR...

So many bonus miles lost...

....get a better fare search engine. nwa.com reservation search engine has a tendency to omit certain connections/flight, and codeshare partner's flights, despite its availability. Also the search engine typically groups your outbound flight with a return flight going through the same connecting city of the outbound flight.

Has anyone tried to book award travel on US-Airways Web-Site? They have a very nice feature where you select a Date by clicking on a Calendar, and either you will be told that there are flights to your selected destination on that date, or it will show (color coded on the Calendar) which dates (plus or minus a couple of days of your original selection) are available for travel to your selected destination.

I found this much nicer to deal with than NWA's Web-Site.

Ability to see open seats for all flights specified under our search criteria, like Delta does by clicking on the "View Seats" button next to the all possible itineraries. I'll pick the more open flight, or at least the one with less preferred seating selected, to increase the chances for an EUA. It may sound trivial, but I hate going through the process of almost buying before I can see the open seat map.

I agree it'd be nice to see the menu samples, but what "low carb meals" are you referring to?? There've been separate threads discussing the dismaying ABSENCE of low-carb choices on airlines (and the amazing new finding of low-carb Atkins chocolate clusters in the NW Worldclubs). But if you're usually in F, you can pretty much count on having some selection of meat or other animal flesh, salad, and/or green vegetables to pick off the tray and approximate a moderately low carb meal.

Getting back to the thread topic, of all the suggestions above the two I would most appreciate would be the ability to search for and book upgradable seats with a date range (especially on coveted high-season international flights) without having to call back every day to recheck and waste my and service rep time, and the ability to look at/change seats on-line even if you didn't book on-line (e.g., because you had to call to book!).

I'll add that having a column on the flight display indicating "WP miles earned", like Continental states "One Pass miles earned" for each leg of the flight would also save time for those trying to book flights based on max miles earned or seeking miles to a certain goal.

...if they would use the same award search system as the NW-Japanese site uses. I just go to that site instead now, thanks to the info I got from this FT!
