2/24 Flight: 1147 Departs Detroit (DTW) February 24 9:01 Arrives Madison (MSN) February 24 9:15 Notes Cabin class: P8 F0 Y9 B9 M9 H9 Q9 V9 K9 [This message has been edited by welookgood.com (edited 02-18-2003).] |
What's the question?

Isn't that home of the rude agent who refused to give you a between seat? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif [This message has been edited by IndustrialPatent (edited 02-18-2003).] |
my question is basically is this normal to hold all seats till check in for such a short flight.. or will some be released over the next few day. this is nw not continental after all!

It's normal. NW has exhausted the seats reserved for Elites / the "F" bucket and now they're holding out for revenue tickets.
|
If it were Continental, none of the 16 seats would've been reserved for Elites -- the only thing "F" stands for at Continental is, well, you're "F'd" if you're an elite.

Just shocked I didnt get upgraded as I was at 100% when booked in advance
|
I had a similiar situation waiting for a FC seat to open up on 2/21/03 NW FL #337 DTW/LAX which had P5 F0.
Northwest sold the P5 seats and now its P0 F0. I'm traveling on a friday afternoon DTW/LAX so that flight probably had a lot of business folks heading home on business fare tickets. Sometimes you get a gate upgrade. Suppose there is a storm and lots of flights don't make the connection. Bingo, you get the FC seat, as a gate upgrade! Good Luck! RC |
being your nw plat assuming u bought the ticket in the 5 day window thats surprising...

Besides, its not a matter of getting off the ship quickly to make a close connection, seems like MSN is yourdestination.com. ------------------ Not sure where I'm going, but I'm getting there fast. |
The flight looks pretty open in coach. Since this is a -9 You will probably be more comfortable in an exit row with no one sitting next to you than you will be in coach. Ask the elite line for an exit row, row 5 or row 6d. Remember, Elite upgrades are a perk but not a guarantee.

it is very hard to get upgraded MSN-MSP or MSN-DTW in my experience.. besides, IMO since its such a short flight, it doesnt really matter whether you get upgraded or not.
|
My DTW-ATL flight on Friday is P3 F2, and I haven't cleared the upgrade yet, even though we're within the window for Golds (let alone Plats). Phone agents tell me that "quite a few" F seats were sold on that flight, which would explain why I'm not clearing.
Shrug. Sometimes it happens. |
At 1am central 4 F seats opened.. call nw and now i got upgraded
