What's wrong with cross posting?
I read this response to a recent post...

Many questions that arise cut across several topics...NW and CO and KL for example all have their own boards but not all of us have the time to read everything and as partners the questions pertain to more than one carrier. What's the harm...are we overloading the system or do some folks simply find it annoying that someone asked the same question in several places in an attempt to get more answers? |

The problem with not doing that is some of the catagories you post in aren't read by many people...if I have a question about a destination that many NW flyers go I would probably get a much higher response rate if I posted that question in the NW forum.
If you want to get technical, the NW forum that we use is really only for NW Worlperks and related mileage issues... So I have no problem with someone posting non mileage issues here. thoughts? |

Cross posting is generally not a good idea. If you feel an issue warrants it, do it by posting your new thread in the most relevant forum. Then copy the link and paste it into a new thread in the other forum with a synopsis of what's going on.
To answer your question, the problem with cross posting is that it divides the discussion. Some people say some things on one thread, which may or may not repeated in the other thread. It can be very difficult to follow. |
It would be easier if we could search all of "FlyerTalk Miles", instead of each board.... I've duplicated a post just because I wasn't aware it was on another board...
