No Upgrade Notification - EUA Running?

Hello all,

I'm currently doing my first flights on NW since making elite (made Silver in July, but have flown DL since then. Will make Gold on this trip). My Itinerary was a one-way NW segment (222 SFO-MSP), and then a CO RT MSP-EWR-TLV and back. The MSP-EWR and EWR-MSP are operated by NW.

The SFO-MSP segment was yesterday, and I received no notification from the upgrade system that I had been waitlisted, or confirmed, or anything. I will be the first to admit that upgrades SFO-MSP are not forthcoming for a Silver, but it concerns me that maybe I'm not getting processed by EUA for some reason. The same thing happened for the MSP-EWR leg which departs tomorrow (no notification early this morning).

Is there any possibility that there's something wrong with regard to my reservation and EUA? I sent a TTU, and after receiving two irrelevant form letters, got one response that I shouldn't expect notification if there aren't upgrades available (which is not what nwa.com says when you configure the notification). I am positive that the notification settings are set up correctly (I even added an extra email address before last night, in addition to my phone and an existing one).

Thanks,
John

If you aren't upgraded before checking in, you won't get anything in your email, at least, I don't. Flying MSP-SFO tomorrow, availability shows P2F2, obviously they're holding those last two for gate upgrades/last minute F sales.

You may only get the UG notification if there is an UG to be notified about. :)

I always get an email and a text message for EUA the night before, even if I'm upgraded 5 days out.

Is there a remote possibility that you booked this ticket before you became Silver in July and the reservation doesn't reflect your status? NW Scoop said that a recent software fix - or something like that - has fixed this glitch, but I would call and make sure that your reservation actualy says 'Elite' on it. If it doesn't, they can delete your WP number and re-enter it which should solve that problem.

No, the ticket was booked about two days ago. When viewing the reservation on nwa.com, I see Silver Elite next to my WP #, and when doing check-in/cancel I am asked if I want an upgrade (no dice, though).

The reason I'm expecting a notice, even when there is no availability, is the description of the Elite Upgrade Notification category on nwa.com: (link)

My NWA Info - Elite Upgrade

My NWA Info

WorldPerks Elite customers will receive one of the following updates:
Your First Class upgrade is confirmed. Your new reserved seat number is OOO.
First Class is full. You are on the First Class airport standby list.
First Class and the airport standby lists are full.

Elite Upgrade messages are sent when the status of the upgrade is known.

My NWA Info messages apply only to flights operated by Northwest, Compass, Mesaba or Pinnacle Airlines.
From what I'm hearing, this is incorrect?

I've received text messages this month when not UGed at EUA, but placed on list (as well as when UGed at EUA).
