Reservation showing wrong elite status

Wondering if anyone has experienced a similar problem before, and whether it worked itself out or if you had to call NWA to fix it. I just completed my 75,000th mile on Sunday. It actually posted Sunday night, and on "Manage my account" -> "Account Summary" it showed Gold Elite through 9/16/07, and Platinum Elite 9/17/07-2/29/08.

I logged on this morning (9/17) and account status simply showed "Platinum Elite". Lovely. Unfortunately, I had an existing reservation, and that still shows Gold Elite... I tried re-adding my FF number, and it still shows gold. So then I tried switching the FF number to a CO OnePass number (which has 0 miles and is definitely not elite), and it still showed Gold Elite. Switching back to my NWA FF# had no effect (still showing gold).

I then had to book a new reservation, and I figured that at least this new reservation would show up correctly, but now this new reservation also shows Gold Elite. So now I have two reservations showing gold instead of platinum, and I'm wondering if that's going to cause me to be out of luck for getting upgrades... (SFO->DTW is always a struggle for upgrades)

Has anyone else had similar problems? If so, did the status showing under "View my reservations" update itself after a few days, or did you have to call NWA to have it fixed?

This is a common issue. Just call the GE/PE line and they'll fix it for you. Just be glad you found it before you missed the UG! Welcome to PE status!!!!^

no worries

According to Scoop, there have been some fairly recent changes to the UG process. One of the changes is that when the UG processing runs, it does recognize your new status, regardless of your status when the reservation was made. So even though your reservation shows Gold, your UG should be processed for a Plat.

Had similar issues when I went for peasant to silver and again when up to gold. Looking in from the outside, it appears that NW has "loosely integrated" systems. Whatever manages the WP program interacts with the reservation systems but not in real time. Might be some kinda batch job. It took several days to a week for my changes to be fully reflected on all my advanced reservations.

If you call they will unattach your WP # and then reattach it. When they attach it is when the status is noted. It does not update real time, with so many reservations I could see that as a bottle neck, as they check every reservation.

You do not need to call reservations. The upgrade processor will pick this up automatically.

Well, I called this morning before I read Scoop's reply. I figured it was better safe than sorry, as one of my flights was only 8 days away...

I called the gold/plat line, and the agent was able to fix everything within three minutes. I was quite happy.
