Share or separate PRN?
I am a Gold who is going to Hawaii with my sister. Fair change for an upgrade. Is my chance better or worse for upgrading her (no status) if she is on my PRN or on a separate reservation?

I'm not sure exactly what type of an upgrade you're looking for, but the standard, free domestic 3 day Gold Elite upgrade (or SE or PE, for that matter) doesn't apply to Hawaii.
Also, I don't know where you're starting prior to your flight to Hawaii, but if you have an earlier connecting flight, you should have a shot at an upgrade on that flight if you separate your reservations, if you want to sit apart, but the computer will not uograde you if a non-elite is on the same record as you. |

The other issue with splitting the PNR is whether she'll have access to P seats. If you are flying a 757, row 16 or 14 together would be vastly superior to you in F and her in 47B. Especially since you'll be in back for the overwater anyway. Hopefully, you booked thru MSP. MSP-HNL is a 330 with great seats and video on demand. I personally wouldn't split if I were any level elite for this trip. |
Don't split the PNRs, If she's on yours you will both have access to P seats or the exit rows.
