Combing accounts-Caution!
 

I recently combined 2 accounts that I have had with Northwest. They had each earned the 10,000 mile FlyFreeFaster promotion last year. When they combined them, they deleted 10,000 miles from one of the accounts, as you were only supposed to have 1 promotion per member. Bottom line? Let them keep sending you seperate statements. Trying to save them a dime has cost me 10,000 miles!!

Did you purposely get two accounts for the purpose of earning miles? I can't see how this would be productive for earning elite status or otherwise. Maybe just for earning bonus promotions such as MCI?

I'm not surprised they took the 10,000 miles away.

Or it saved them 10,000 miles that you were not entitled to receive in the first place.
