Booking Code Share Tickets on NWA.com
I am trying to book a code share ticket on NWA. When I search Orbitz it shows me the correct NWA flight and says that it operated by a partner airline, but when I use the same search criteria on NWA.com there are no code share flights shown. Do I need to do something special on nwa.com for these flights to appear. I am trying to avoid the orbitz service fee. That is why I am not booking on their site.
Thanks for your help ------------------ Rachel [email protected] CO - Platinum Hilton - Diamond SPG - Platinum |
There is nothing you can do if it does not show up on nwa.com. You could try to book the ticket on the web site of the partner airline.

We are in the same boat princess, and what you do is find the exact routing you need with NW flight numbers and call the NW elite line and have them force it for you.. if they say they can't hang up and you know (you are CO) call call again.. If its on orbitz you can pretty much bet that NW can do it. I just did that and although it took a couple of calls it worked like a charm.
The booking engines won't do this as there is something about hub to hub problems between NW and CO. however these issues are not a problem for Expedia or orbitz or the phone center. Also if they tell you that you can't take 100% of your segments on CO metal that is not true, just hang up and call again.. hope that helps.. all you really miss out on is the booking bonus which you wouldn't get on NWA.com anyway. BTW, I'm sure when you try the route on CO.com you get a much higher fare |
I will try calling NW directly. The CO price is double the amount of the NW for the exact same flight.

Use search by schedule instead of by price, and you can freely exchange one flight from another and know the fares accordingly.

This is a frustrating glitch with nwa.com.
The award travel booking feature and mileage savings promotions are of little value when the system wants you to fly SFO-MSP-IAH-GRU when the SFO-IAH flight is available... ...or when you can't get the online booking bonus because it throws you a SFO-MSP-DTW-EWR connection for a purchased ticket when you know a SFO-DTW (NW metal) - DTW-EWR (CO metal) has space at the fare you want. I'm surprised they haven't fixed this. Grr. [edited to include additional content] Then again, maybe it's not a glitch. I received the following e-mail from NW customer service this morning: Dear snorkmaster, Thank you for contacting Northwest Airlines Online Support. At this time our website will show you Northwest flights if they are available. The site is meant to promote the use of Northwest's flights. If there is a lack of Northwest flights for a destination it will bring up our codeshare partners. Thank you again for using Online Support for nwa.com. We appreciatethe opportunity to serve you, our customer. Sincerely, Minnetonka McDuff Northwest Online Support [This message has been edited by snorkmaster (edited 02-14-2002).] |

But, tell them FLAT OUT that you want to use the CO code-shares, as are permitted in the routing. Then provide them with the EXACT routing that orbitz.com provided. Have the flight numbers and times in front of you. I haven't had a problem doing this. So far twice this year I've flown thru IAH on CO metal, but purchased the tickets from NW. Ironically, the CO routings DO NOT permit routings thru IAH for my city pairs. Also, some interesting and useful info... I got my EUA upgrades just like normal, in fact just before EUA ran, by NW PNR just disappered, then suddendly I had a CO PNR. Effectively CO just took over the reservation. |
