bye-bye off peak
Only one quick question??? The page on NW's web only mentions the loss of the 20,000 off- peak domestic tickets, but says nothing about the off-peak international tickets. Will they also go to year round, single priced tickets or will there still be some off-peak over-the-ocean deals?

from NW website:
"New, Simplified Award Structure. Beginning June 1, 2002, WorldPerks awards will be priced by travel region, with a single award level year-round. For example, a standard domestic roundtrip ticket will be 25,000 miles anytime. By member request, Turkey and Cyprus will be considered Europe awards (formerly Middle East) and will require fewer miles." I would venture to guess that their comment regarding a "single award level year-round", followed by their comment about Turkey & Cypress now being considered as Euro awards means that the euro off-peak award is history. They haven't been exceedingly clear, however. IMHO it's undoubtedly an attempt on their part to mitigate the sting of the loss of the off-peak award. |
