Former Elite !

I was Gold or Silver Elite on NW for most of the 1990's. Last year I opted for CO and made Gold Elite.

Would NW comp me Silver Elite based on my CO Gold status? Curious!

They might, they might not. You'll have to ask them and find out!

If NW is like Continental, it's not likely that they'll grant your request since Continental is a NW partner. I was in the same situation last month when I considered switching my loyalty to Continental. At the time, I was Platinum with NW and asked if Continental would match that status if I started giving them my business. The response that I received was that since NW was a partner airline, Continental would NOT give me the same status in the One Pass program. The thing I find interesting is that if I were an elite member on any other airline, they would have given me Platinum. The only thing you can do is ask NW and see what they say. Good luck!

....But NW in their infinate wisdom will comp a CO Platinum with NW Silver.... yet they say they never comp.... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum20/HTML/002102.html

thezipper:

I started that thread over in the CO forum... I'm actually a CO Silver!!!

However, I'm a new Starwood Gold. My theory based on other NW comps threads that I've ready is that since NW frequently gives comps to hotel programs' elites, I probably got it because of my new SPG gold status.

I was a CO Silver and a UA Silver in 1999 and got Silver on Worldperks. However, their letter clearly stated that this was a "one-time" thing. It was pretty clear NOT to ask again.
