What is "Snack" in First?

What do you get when the meal description for First is "snack?" I hope that this is not the snack basket.

That is exactly it!

No, if you flight says snack under meal, it is something more formal than the snack basket. If it said none under meal, than it is the snack basket. I haven't had a "formal snack" in awhile, so someone will hopefully chime in with the newest offerings.

I noticed this lately as well. It is like a smaller version of the FC meal. I'm guessing it is on a flight less than the typical 2.5 hour minimum for a full meal. See this thread for discussion of a recent morning snack.

The red-eye from HNL to LAX serves a "snack" in FC. It's typically a cold sandwich or what they call a pasta salad (actually BB-size pasta pebbles), with a 1/2 ounce bag of kettle chips, and a brownie-type thing.

Anyone else able to comment on recent experience with afternoon "snack" specified in F? I ahve 2 flights coming up that have this as meal service just before and just after the traditional dinner time.

What snack are y'all dreaming about?

My recent MSP-LAX "snack" = snack basket was the source of my post:

On CO, a snack is a plated cold plate with cheese, crackers, peeled shrimp, and salami, with some fruit and little Russell Stouffer chocolate. That is a true snack.

When your itinerary lists a "Snack" as your meal in F, it is NOT the snack basket. The snack basket is a separate item that is supposed to be in F on all flights > 1 hour.

Please do not confuse the two. On NW, in the past a "snack" when listed under the meal on your itinerary has been a meat/fruit/cheese tray or a sandwich wrap, for example.

A data point...

22 July on NW807 MSP-SEA the "snack" in F involved a large southwestern salad (greens, onions, tomatoes, black beans, shredded cheese), a side bowl of rice with some beans or veggie bits in it, a roll with butter, crackers and cheese, Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream, and drinks.
