Should we change the wiki or am I wrong?
I highlighted in red the following potential changes to the wiki
Domestic, Canada, Mexico and Caribbean:
* P - full-fare First
* F – discounted First
* R - upgraded First (used for elite upgrades and mileage upgrades)
* A – award First (also used for plat/gold elite upgrades from domestic coach award tickets)
* Y – full-fare Economy sometimes NOT and sometimes books into First
* B – slightly discounted Economy sometimes books into First
* M, H, Q, V – discounted Economy sometimes books into First
* L, T, K – deeply discounted Economy
* W - award Economy (also used for "free ticket" vouchers given to bumpees)
Using Miles to Upgrade Domestic, Canada, Mexico, and Caribbean:
* Use the WorldPerks award charts (http://www.nwa.com/freqfly/direct/charts/) to find appropriate mileage amounts.)
* Persons without WorldPerks Elite status: Any regularly published fare (i.e., not promo fare) other than T or K can be upgraded; upgrades from full Y come from “P” and upgrades from discounted fares come from “F.” (note: this information may be out of date)
* Persons with WorldPerks Elite status: Full Y fares will receive a complimentary upgrade if there is “P” availability; all other regularly published fares can be upgraded with miles. (note: this information may be out of date)
Trans-Atlantic/Trans-Pacific:
* J – full-fare Business
* C - discounted Business
* Z - deeply discounted Business (also used for mileage upgrades from "full" fares--see below)
* D - award Business
* U - upgraded Business (used only for mileage upgrades from "select" fares--see below)
o Note: Prior to 12/5/2006, int'l mileage upgrades came from the I bucket, but they now come from U.
* Y – full-fare Economy sometimes NOT full fare, in those cases requires more miles and "I" not "Z" availability to upgrade

always had to use miles. Don't know about domestic.
Come to think about it the GA in DTW which had the facial surgery always
looks at me like I am retarded when I ask him about a possible upgrade. I
want to assure you, that I am not retarded

Come to think of it, neither did it work on my AMS and FRA trips. And, yes,
the same GA made me feel the same way. Although some fellow Elites have
assured me that he generally is a nice guy. Beats me.

It's a wiki... isn't being editable the point of a wiki? Have at it. If we don't like it, we'll change it back.
As per Y, isn't it YUP that's usually the pay-for-Y book-into-F fare?

I believe OP that "I" availability is no longer in any event. All "international discounted fare upgrdes (i.e. Class B) come out of the "U" bucket.

On my NRT trips on Y or B fares I have never been upgraded for free,
always had to use miles. Don't know about domestic.

On a last minute Y domestic fare, NW will try to seat you in FC on a space available basis -- or at least this was my husband's experience pre-Katrina. He is trying to avoid flying too much because his last name is on the "no fly" list, so he has no post-Katrina experience on NW.
