I am not a NWA flyer but with a recent ticket purchase for late this year I am wondering - is there a way to upgrade this already purchased ticket NOW and get a confirmed F seat for my domestic travel? Thanks

If it is an upgradeable fare, yes. If you want to do it with $$ then you can do that anytime.

Well other that $$$ - I thought there were other ways outside of $$$

You can use miles if it is an upgradeable fare. That and $$ are the only 2 ways I know

The official rule is that miles may be used to upgrade paid coach fares up to 4 days prior to travel. For most fares, except full fare coach, the cost is 15,000 miles each way.

If you don't have elite status on NW, it is not possible to upgrade reservations booked with T or K fares, the two lowest-cost coach fare categories.
