Blacklist possible for using too many PKs?
I just got too wondering about this, if people are using too many PKs, that is on every single ticket they fly, is recourse from NWA possible. Like a blacklist that lowers upgrade chances or other actions that negatively impact your travel or maybe an eventual ban from Worldperks.
I know the probability is low, but in the fare type it clearly spells out when you use a PK fare, and if all your fares a PK you'd think NWA would eventually catch on and step in. What do you guys think? A possibility? |
NWA can audit accounts at will. If they determine you're abusing the system too much, they can ask you to provide your certificates for them to examine, as well as potentially restricting your account from using certificates.
I think the answer is: if you have to ask, you're probably doing it too much. I would hate to be denied boarding sometime because of something silly like this...although I would also hope they would contact me before I board. |
Sorry, PK????

A pk is a $ off coupon that they usually give as perks for missed flights, bumps, etc.
What I don't understand is why NW doesn't shut down sites & auctions that rampantly sell the PKs. They make it so easy to just paypal 12$ and get like 100$ off your flight its a wonder that more people don't do it. Seems like restricting PK distribution would shut down 75% of the traffic. |

The real answer lies in us and other fliers not abusing the benefit. Otherwise, we may just see them eliminated altogether. |

As I recall, PK certificates may be gratuitiously transferred but cannot be sold or bartered. I believe that's the only significant restriction.

I use PK certs on about 40-50% of my bookings, and have never had a problem.

I cannot recall a single paid NW ticket that I have flown where I did not use a zone cert or a $$ off cert. And I have flown a lot - I have a seven figure Worldperks balance. I have never had a problem. I think the only thing that will get you in trouble is if you admit to buying them or bartering for them. So remember, silence is golden. Loose lips sink ships.
