KLM Seating / Fare bucket tool

What is the process for getting KLM seats assigned? Unable to choose a seat online and am wondering what process must one take to get the European connecting flight seats. Would really like some exit rows!

Also wondering if there's an available fare bucket tool like the ITN, did some searches, but nothing around. Looking to upgrade a B-fare across the pond and wondering if there was such a tool around still or if I should just call NWA daily. :|

Okay, that was mean. :p

KLM does not assign seats for intraeuropean flights until about 24 hours before flight time. You can get seat assignments for intercontinental flights in advance by calling NW and asking the agent to "go into the KLM system" for your flights. Exit row requests don't always stick, however (KL has been known to boot Plats out of exit rows so friends of KL employees can sit there). If you booked your ticket on nwa.com (and only if you booked your ticket at nwa.com), you can probably access limited seat maps at http://res.nwa.com/App/ViewMyStuff for your KL metal flights. You will probably not be able to select "P" seats, however, and almost certainly won't be able to select exit rows.
