Possibly "Exciting" New Functionality at NWA.com

Today, when changing seats for some flights this weekend, I noticed that nwa.com now prints the barcode for the PNR on the "View Reservation" page. I guess this is so that people who have their itinerary printed out but didn't OLCI can use the itinerary print out to do the kiosk check in.

Just noticed this morning. In addition to the bar code, by clinking the "view receipt" you now can check the "FARE RULE" associated with the reservation. ^ :D

Perhaps I can just stick my laptop screen under the scanner at the check-in kiosk and save a sheet of paper...

Yes, won't someone please think of the TREES!

Actually, I'd like to find out if that worked.

How about a self-adhesive sticker for the kids head :D

How about swiping our WorldPerks (elite) card at the gate if our reservation is linked to the WorldPerks number (which it is 99.999% of the time).

We already can use the elite card to check-in, so why not just save the paper from the kiosk?

Oh, right, TSA needs something to circle today's date on...

What a logical extension of the barcode readers they have now at the OLCI kiosks ^ . I am mildly excited :D

Do you suppose they would actually show the infamous BREE YVR-BUH Fare rules?

:D :D

Barcode

Just saw it this morning as well on the NWA website when I went in to select seats for trip this Nov to SIN using Delta miles. Delta sent me the itin. this past Jan and they hv barcode at the top of the page as well. But was told I need to check-in at CO desk with CO confirmation #.

Not on NW system though, but in Japan we can have the check-in kiosk to read barcode from our cellular phone.

In some airport it even let us get in into the plane without any BP at all, just showing the barcode on cellular phone.

What about that?

dan1431 Oct 19, 2006 6:22 am

On the CO Elite Card there is a bard code on the bottom poriton of the card for which I am unsure of its purpose but my guess is that it has something to do with the gate readers.
