Pillows
 

Hey guys,
does anyone know if pillows and blankets are offered on domestic redeye flights? I might be booking the 12:30am SFO-MSP flight.

I would recommend you bring your own (multiple use pillows/blankets can be nasty)
 

There should be some pillows and blankets on redeye flights, but I will caution you that these pillows and blankets are sitting around for a long time on the a/c.

They might have been on the floor, under a rollerboard in the oberhead bin, been sneezed or coughed into, etc. (multiple times) so using these pillows/blankets is not a good idea.

I just took comfort in these things in both of my mileage runs last month (both first segments were redeyes) and never knew that these aren't as fresh as I first thought...looks like I'll be dragging my own linens for future overnighters. :o

Yes that flight usually has them...but the comments here by RC are spot on and you don't want them!

I was given a blanket on a redeye flight but no pillow.

They have a limited supply on-board, but they do have them. More blankets than pillows, usually. The FAs tend to hand them out in FC first, then proceed to pass them out in coach. Sit near the front if you really want one.

I would suggest getting your own cheap fleece blanket and a $4 pillow from Target, though. It's an investment for the future, and you're always assured of extra warmth and padding on future flights. :)

Never, never, never use an airline pillow or blanket unless YOU personally removed it from the plastic wrap. Taking a random airline pillow that has been scattered about the cabin for several days and placing it for an extended time anywhere near your bare skin is close to a Fear Factor event. I'd like to see one of the news magazine shows do an expose on these items similar to the hotel room/black light experiements.

Yes, yes.... absolutely!

Last LAS-DTW red-eye I flew had blankets on every seat, 1 pillow on every Y seat, and two pillow on every F seat. Also had the LCD screens, so looked like a HNL 757. Cleanest 757 I've ever been on. Let's not talk about the last MCO-DTW 757 I was on (which is about to get it's own thread).
