What time are ELITE status-changes applied?

Todays’ the day of my move into the land of Plat.
Well it should be anyway. I’m in Japan, that’s’ where my account is registered.
According to the NWA website I’m Platinum from 17th of Sep. that’s NOW from where I'm sitting
and I’ve got a flight in just a few hours, Still not checked in for it yet and I would really like to be Plat before doing so.

So; when is the 17th. ? its 10:40am on the 17th as I post this message.
Does anybody know for sure which time zone NWA uses in applying such things?

I could put off checking in for about another 5 hours maximum.

Call the Elite line. They will jerk the appropriate chain!

I suppose it would be CDT, which would still be in the future.

Also remember when you status does change, it might not reflect that on your boarding pass etc (for example you were gold when you booked the ticket but then became plat, your BP might still say you are gold) so you might have update that as well.

Make sure to have them update all future untravelled tickets, for EUA/etc.

I should be Gold on Tue, and have to call for 6 trips total.

When you check in you can ask them to remove your WP# from the reservation and reenter it. If you're plat in the system it should reflect and count for your flight.

Thanks for all the info, and some good advice too.
I can confirm that Minneapolis time is the time that NWA use for such matters. my Elite status changed exactly at midnight their time. I did phone the airline to enquire about and received that info PLUS something pretty handy for other people.
You don't need to phone to have the Status change recognised on the booking. Simply entering a "new" Worldperks number on your reservation via NWA site ( where "new" = the same number re-entered ) does the same job. That's the procedure that I carried out on all my future itineraries.
it worked too.

I'm a happy Plat too, upraded at boarding to exit-row seat upstairs .. mmmmmm sweet.

I'd always verify it on the boarding pass the first time I change status levels regardless of this tidbit, just to be safe. I usually fly long segments at once, so if I miss some bonus miles or whatever due to an improper status showing up, I might be a bit peeved.

The miles for Gold posted last night, and my online statement says I'm Gold. My reservations says Silver, and the Silver Elite 800-number call center says I'm still Silver. So I'm guessing that the online statement is a java-calc for Gold, while the back-end system won't show Gold until tomorrow.

I'd confirm that each reservation has the correct Elite level (in "my reservations"), for EUA, and the before-mentioned Elite bonus milage.

Thanks... finally! Only have to book about 2600 more EQMs for Plat... just one more $118 DTW-LAX, and I'm in!

Found something out interesting this morning, while they were adjusting my unflown flights to Gold. You can change the reservation yourself from Silver to Gold... just change the FF from NW to DL (or some other carrier), then back to NW, and the reservation will now say Gold. But don't do this, even though you can! While on the phone, the CSR started at the top, and I started at the bottom. I did one reservation, saw that it was now Gold, and she said "stop, I now see three FF#s in the PNR... you're NW Silver, then your Delta GM, then your NW Gold". She then cleared out all three, and entered the NW in, which left it Gold.

I'm presuming that when the EUAs processes, the EUA process goes with the first FF# shown... so even though the web stated Gold (the third FF entry), the EUA might have seen Silver, and might have processed the reservation in the Silver window.

But this might actually be an interesting thing to know, if you're a Silver Elite, but want to post the miles to DL. Put in your Silver Elite when you make the reservation (so the EUA processes, and you're in F), then put your DL number in so that when the milage posts, it goes to DL. Just an example. No idea if it would work that way.

But it would be intersting to know if a self-fixed Silver->Gold would EUA in the Gold window, and/or if a Silver->DL would process in the Silver window (and post to DL).

I did the same thing and I think I posted about it here somewhere. My EUA did not post in the gold window, and I even missed one upgrade probably because of this. I was annoyed because back when I switched from base to silver the customer service agent just told me to update my number on the website, so I figured that would be enough. But when I missed one upgrade, and another didn't post at the 3 day window I decided to go ahead and call in. My mileage bonus did post as gold though and gold printed on my boarding pass.
