Take that, NW!

In relation to the What NW giveth, NW taketh away and the Horrible PNR threads.

I went to check the fare again 20 minutes ago. A further drop of some $150 (return dropped frm Q to V to T) with travel to be complete in 12 days! Of course I phoned NW straight away. The agent was very surprised too. Seems the 1st reissue hadn't happened yet so she only got stung for a $10 call centre res fee instead of a 2nd C$37 reissue fee. So that voucher has increased in value to some 35% of the original fare. :D :p

Unbelievable. The return fare dropped to K class with only 9 days to go so I phoned to get the $34 or so into a ECV. The ticket still has not been reissued since the 1st fare drop 5-6 days ago so don't have to pay a further $10 call centre fee or the reissue fee.

Makes up somewhat for the loss of 2,250 20k Bonus Round miles, or at least the satisfaction of depriving NW of future revenues.

Now, all you need is a triple bump on this ticket, and you're set. ;)

Really incredible... shows how much rechecking your flights can pay off!

NO refunds

I booked a NWA travel package in February and in April, the package dropped $500.00. They refused to make any adjustments. I am out $500 because I booked too early. The special is still going on now!!  To make matters worse, they won't answer my questions. I've been told, "You got it through a TA. Ask them!!"

the package dropped $500

They're right .. your beef is with the TA
Fair assumption that, if it's TVLCTY/ EXPEDIA etc, you're hosed.

If it's NWA-WorldVacations, and you haven't traveled yet, get on the phone ~ to them.
Make sure you ask (politely) if they expect your repeat business in the future.

What's to lose ?

No Help

I immediately got on the phone with NWA. My TA also tried. I would need to cancel everything and pay the penalties, in order to get the NEW deal. Everything was the same, except they were giving a $500 rebate. I lost a $500 promotion from NWA.
My other beef is that NW   A won't answer a simple question about their switch to Delta. "Sorry, call your TA".

I'm confused. Why would you expect NW to grant you a promo discount on a package you bought three and four months earlier? If the price had gone up $500, what would your reaction be if NW expected you to pay the difference now?

Brudda Jul 29, 2006 4:17 pm

I'm speechless, you're right. However, the money would have been a great bonus. What gets me is that everything was exactly the same, with a $500 discount!

Do you carry that expectation for everything you purchase? Not everywhere is like Costco.
