NWA Consoildators

I'm looking for some las minute travel on NWA for June departure - so wondering if there is a way to find any decent priced consolidator fares either in economy or business?

If possible I'd like a fare that will also accrue miles to my AS account. I'd depart Seattle primarily or any west coast city. Thanks

My daughter recently flew SFO-LGA on a NW ticket bought on Hotwire. I was somewhat surprised that NW was giving their excess inventory to Hotwire. The downside was that the ticket was not eligible for mileage credit.

My family frequently uses IACE for consolidator fares to Japan. They have offices in many US cities, including Seattle. Their NWA fares accrue mileage.

Here we go. I too have used their services. They do come up with some very special prices.

Have had nothing but great experiences dealing with IACE, Kintetsu Travel is also pretty reliable for great deals on NW tickets to Japan. Used IACE to get a $650 ticket on one weeks notice for travel during Obon, and Kintetsu for an $800 ticket on 3 days notice leaving on Dec. 26 and returning on Jan. 4. I have never payed more than $800 rnd trip to KIX by using these two agency.

$429 DTW-OSA sure sounds like a great deal, one week out... if available still... and I can imagine what the taxes/fees/etc are going to be like!

Is it standard practice that no mileage is offered on a consolidator ticket? I've never used a consolidator and am considering it - but credited miles would be a factor.

Nope, not standard practice. My family and I have bought consolidator tickets numerous times and have gotten mileage, but it ultimately depends on the restrictions on the ticket itself. Just ask the travel agent/agency.

Any consolidator to Europe?

I've bought consolidator tickets before and the TA said they wouldn't earn mileage, yet they did. Take everything with a grain of salt. Look to see if the fare class is Bulk, or if it has a normal one.

I have used JTB(Japan Travel Bureau). They have offices in New York and Chicago. All 3 times from MEM-NRT I have gotten good deals and credited miles. Usually connected through SEA too.

I think the deal w/ NW (unlike other carriers) is that any PAID fare class accrues miles.

Dunno about EQM, though.

I had a good luck with Edward's Travel based in MSP. I don't know if I can post the phone # in the forum, but their email: [email protected]

Consolidator....

I use US & I Travel/Tours in Mishawaka, IN. Daniella is competent. Sometimes stern and very "task" but competent.

My local MSN consolidator has, over the last 3 years or so, simply sighed and told me that their contracted fares are probably no better, if not worse, than what people will get through standard channels. And it makes sense: why should NWA pay them a premium when the flights will go out pretty much full in any case.
