Exactly my initial thought...

One Question: Do you take your kids on mileage runs?? (if so what the hell do you tell the principal that "works" with you when planning one?)

I hope your trip to SIN ain't a TRUE milage run bcs one thing is for sure: no kid enjoys MRs... repeatedly that is.

Since i was the first born outside of Taiwan and japan in my family, we spent much time flying back and forth to Asia. Too bad no WP back then!

But I LOVED IT. I never got tired of flying and airports. I still don't really. My BF thinks I'm crazy for wanting to do weekend trips to London or AMS from LAX...thus far, I've lost that battle.

Seems like the apples didn't fall far from the tree....

Our mileage runs are slow paced runs. We alays have at least one day and night on the ground that gives the kids a chance to unwind. Our mileage runs are like a long weekend in Lisbon, Paris or visit with their uncle in Frankfurt. We usually do these when they are off on one or both of Friday/Monday stradlling the weekend. The SIN trip is not a mileage run. The trip will take 10 days.

Congrats Yaatri and Family! Perhaps I will run into you guys again on a MR. Last year's trip to SIN was fun. I just wish the prices would come down a little and that darn 6-8 day min. I'd do it again in a heat beat! :D

Thought about a MR to Lisbon last year, but just chickened out & went to London. How was Lisbon? Safe?

Why would you possibly think that London is safer than Lisbon???

Lisbon is quite safe. We have been to both, London and Portugal multiple times. We have driven around Portugal, and doen Lisbon runs on Public transport. The only place I have been a victim of a crime was in Paris metro.

Lisbon used to be a lot cheaper than the western Europe. Not so anymore as far as hotels are concerned.

Thanks Ginger. I do have a home where my family lives. I just haven;t got one where I work.

Could you explain how exactly you attained that many miles for the whole family so fast?

My kids barely make silver, although this year it will be plat on AA and maybe silver on NWA or Cont.
