Xtreme Miles 2005 - Question
Hi All,
My very first post here. I was rerouted on Delta because the flight on my first leg was delayed. I got points for the first leg, but nothing for the second (5 instead of the 13 I generally get). Should I be getting any points for the second leg? Anybody had similar experiences. Thanks. |
Go to the contact us form on nwa.com and request the miles for the original routing.

I also have two questions.
1. I pulled an award for someone and they will fly during the promotion. Do I get credit for these 10 points? 2. I have an electronic ticket from ORD-CAI via MSP and back during the promotion. WIll I be able to check-in electronically. If the answer is no to both questions I will be 5 points away from the next bracket worth 5,000 points. If I can do either of these I am ok. In case it helps I am NW metal ORD-MSP-AMS and KLM AMS-CAI I am KL metal all the way home CAI-AMS-ORD |
#1.) without your name & WP# on the ticket -- unlikely.
#2.) Yes ^ . and if you can OLCI for the return, double Yes. ^ Looks like you're in good shape. /. |

However, before you rush off to do this, I would wait & see how the DL flight posts. Rebookings are usually full "Y" fares, and it is not unusual for them to post with a 50% EQM bonus. When it is a NW ticket, NW usually - but not always -- comes around to clean things up so that you only receive the EQM's for fare paid, but I probably netted 2-3K EQM's last year as a result of irregular ops. Then you have to decide whether the EQM's or the Xtreme Miles points are more important. |
Thanks for the quick replies and good news.
Before the fax option whenever one of these promos was going on I would check in and not actaully print the BP and have to go the kiosk and reprint. THe fax is always a nice option. I remember when this promo type let you use the kiosk and still get the credit. Just out of curiosity, when does my passport get scanned in since I can go through security with my boardging pass? That is why I thought I would not be able to check in via internet. |

Under the guidelines of the Xtreme Miles promotion, in order to earn points on qualifying activies, only flight reservations flown by the WorldPerks members registered for this promotion qualifies for points. As the award travel in question was booked under another name, points will not be awarded for this travel. |
When you do nwa.com OLCI for an international trip it will ask you to type in your passport number during OLCI (so have it handy). After that, most likely nobody from NW will look at your passport unless you check bags. You may need to show it to KL or AMS security personnel when entering the AMS gate area for your flight to CAI, however, and obviously you'll need to show it to Egyptian immigration on arrival in CAI.
Note that on the way back you can only do OLCI through klm.com (not nwa.com). klm.com OLCI does not qualify for Xtreme Miles points, and you also may not be able to print your BP (only certain origins allow home-printed BPs), but at least you'll get a better choice of seats for CAI-AMS |
Splitting points - -
Getting down to the wire on Xmiles, & looking to pick up those last few points (~22) for the next level, but not go 'way over.
Dash rule 5 specifically mentions earning 50% points for trips that crossover the promo dates; Xmiles does not. Seems like a red-eye run 1/31-2/01 is in order: 5+5+13 for Xmiles & the return-balance to Dash. ^ Anybody get 'partial credit' at the beginning of Xmiles that can confirm ?? Kinda like playing "The Price Is Right" !! :D :D /. |

Qualifying flights with multiple booking classes per one-way trip will earn points based on the booking class of the longest segment of each one-way trip. Any qualifying roundtrips that commence prior to January 31, 2006 with a return after January 31, 2006 will be awarded 50% of the roundtrip points. |
Anybody getting close to the 100K limit?
Not me for sure I have a chance att 500 pts but its doubtful, most likely I will end up in the mid 400. |
For those that make same day trips the OLCI doesnt post without prodding NW nor does the return trip milage, some glitch in the system according to CS
