NW E-Cert ?

If I am to use an E-Cert for a few bucks off a flight, can I still get the upgrades since I am GE? Didn't know if they tried to hold ya back for getting the use out of even a cheaper fare.

With advance upgrades on domestic segments, the fare basis shouldn't matter.
