Delta mile posting guidelines

Folks:

How quick do DL miles post? First time I flew DL this year I waited about 3-4 weeks and then called and subsequently faxed my boarding passes.

I flew MSN-CVG roundtrip last week. I know this is only 1000 miles, but they're B-I-S miles and I'm highly irrational about not getting every last one of those.

I just flew DL to Ireland and back and in both cases, the flights posted within 48 hours.

My experience is that DL miles actually post faster than NW miles. Often by the end of the day of flight.

Ditto what MarkXS said. DL seems slightly faster & more accurate than NW. If they don't show up within 3-4 days max, it's time to crank up the fax.

An exception is NW-operated codeshares where you are upgraded to F. Sometimes the fare classes seem to confuse the NW computers and it might sit there with a "pending" status (no miles) for a while. I can't decide if faxing the receipt & BP's speeds that process up or not. It's probably better to wait & see if they screw up by giving you the 50% EQM bonus than to open your mouth too soon.

I do this a lot lately, since Delta flights are 150-300 dollars cheaper than Northwest flights for my current pattern (PIT-VPS).

So far, the miles have posted to my Northwest account in 2 to 3 days. Usually 2 days. Never had a problem with it, so far.

My experience is that the DL miles posted as quick if not faster than NW miles. The one thing that you may want to make sure is that the miles didn't post accidently to your skymiles account (if you have one).

There seems to be some difficulty in always getting your Worldperks # in to the system.

Good Luck

I had a Delta flight monday morning. The miles were posted late monday night/ tuesday morning. I have never had anything post that fast before. Normally My Nw miles post 36-48 hours same for delta. Co averages 60- 72 hours.

With my WP_PE# in the record, will I get the 125% bonus on a DL ticketed, DL metal flight? I only ask as DL is Skyteam and I wonder if my ST+ status will get me the bonus on my WP account. Nothing I see in WP Elite benefits says it wont!...I am sure others have been through this.

From my experience, you will only get 100% PE tier bonus on DL r/t the 125% on NW.

On a somewhat related subject.

Will I get EQMs on a Delta Coded Air France operated flight?? I know I'll get banked miles, but the WorldPerks site says EQMs are granted for Delta Operated, Delta Coded flights and Air France Operated, Air France Coded flights.

Yes, you will.

It's the same concept as if you're flying a CO-coded NW-operated flights. You just need to find out from AF what fare class you are booked in. Then compare your AF's fare class against the chart on nwa.com.

I flew an itin in early Sept that was all NW except for one DL leg. I checked with the gate agent prior to boarding the DL flight, and she confirmed my WP number was in the record. My Skymiles number had never been associated with this itin - it was all ticketed by NW.

Several weeks went by, and miles still had not posted for the DL leg, even though all the NW legs had posted. I emailed Talk to Us, and they immediately responded by posting the miles and sent me an email. The message in the email said it was pending internal processing, but my account info on the NW websit shows it as posted. I didn't have to fax a boarding pass...

I was not delighted by how long it took for the miles to post, but it was nice to see such a prompt response from NW CS!

it seems that the previous problems of DL miles posting is much better and pretty fast, about 2 days....providing that your NW number is on the boarding pass (if you initially put in your DL, it has to be deleted from the record)...
