Worldperks silver w/ Priorityclub & Upgardes when silver?

Wow I haven't seen this listed in teh recent threads but a few days ago I got a mailing syaing that because of my priority club membership I have 5 months free of NWA silver status. Plus two roundtrips flights would secure me a silver until 2/28/07 and 5 for gold for the same period.

Went to the website, entered teh code and now i am silver on nwa!!!!

Only thing is I am working to gold on Delta and will still be entering my Delta FF# on tickets.

Big question if I am enterting my Delta FF# for the tickets can I get FC class upgrades since I am now also nwa silver?

Thanks and can't tell you how nice it is to be an nwa elite member, the GA's are always so nice in Detroit!

Delta does not upgrade based on WP elite. Same with NW and DL status. You will be able to select premium seating on DL if your WP number is entered in the reservation.

Was this a mailing from NW or ICHotels? What is your priority club status? I've got gold but have not seen anything in offers from them. I'm already silver on NW, but the bump to gold would be nice.

That would depend. You have not stated which airline you are flying on.

If you are flying on NW, and put in your NW silver # you should be eligible (if available in the proper order) for upgrades even if you are earning miles on DL.

However, if you are flying on DL then your DL status would give you benefits, but DL does not recognize WP elites for Upgrades on DL metal.

Just remember that there are fare class restriction for this offer, and they are P,F,J,C,Z,Y,S,B or M class.

so anyone have good fare from BOS,NYC,BDL,PVD for the above fare classes?

I would love it if I got the targeted offer and M class counted - have had many of those this year. Thought it was normally only B or Y.

my nwa run outta pvd

this weekend i am embarking on my first true MR , although I am looking forward to a good 14 hours or so in Fort Lauderdale

i found one of those under $150 MRS out of PVD, PVD-DTW-IAH-FLL and back again

I orginally out it under my DL # as I said I am trying for DL Gold, now that I am NW silver I switched my # to the NW in hope of getting an auto upgrade the day before if that sounds possible, can't figure how to ask for a status upgarde online , any ideas?

eitehr way i am set to change it back to the Delta number before the flight because this will get me 6000 to gold.

I called the nwa agent and they said for the FC silver upgardes I had to make my nwa ff # to get the miles to get the upgarde and if i got the miles on delta I couldn't upgrade

maybe its not even worth the bother for the Upgrade since many a mile will be on Continental otherwise, but hey!

if you have anything to add please tell!

I got the same offer in the mail, I am close to detting Delta Gold, but have 2 NWA itineraries in the next month. I am trying to decide if I should sign up for this promo or not, what can it hurt?

I got a similar offer in the mail via my Starwood account -- silver through 2/06 and fast track for 07 (Silver: 2 roundtrips in M class or higher, Gold: 5 roundtrips in M or higher).

Question: will accepting this comp be my once in a lifetime comp? Have never had NW status.

Website for the offer is:
http://www.nwa.com/promo/2005guestsilver_na/

Requires an activation code, though. I haven't used mine yet, so I haven't checked whether the code will match the name they got from SPG with my NW account #. If not, I can certainly give it away.

I got similar letter in the mail today from NWA and Marriott Rewards for the trial Silver elite offer. My qualifying travel must be in P, F, J, C, Z, Y, S, B, M, H, Q, L, T, or K, so fairly liberal there. I can probably do the two flights for Silver or possibly the five flights for Gold easily between now and February 28, 2006. However, I need just 6,000 miles on CO to be One Pass Silver and I have already scheduled a MR to accomplish that. On my next CO flight, how do I upgrade flying on CO metal using NWA Silver elite status but earn miles on CO One Pass?

I just received this offer of five months of NWA Silver Elite Status as well, apparently courtesy of my Marriott rewards membership.

*Fly 2 qualifying roundtrip flights and earn Silver Elite status.
*Fly 5 qualifying roundtrip flights and earn Gold Elite status.

*P, F, J, C, Z, Y, S, B, M, H, Q, L, T, or K

I'll have my first flight with Northwest coming up soon so this seems to be a very good promo to sign up for despite the current financial issues surrounding Northwest.

This is the correct sign up link

Just joined this forum to explore this particular topic. I'm a bit of a neophyte, only Silver, but spend a lot of time on airplanes to earn it... It seems upgrades are few and far between on certain flights in certain markets. (Unless you are the gold or platinum - btw I'm sorry to those of you veterans who earned the gold and platinum - the agony of air it takes to get there is unenviable at best!) Back to the point - I've received three of these "Free Silver Elite" notices now - One from Marriott, one from Starwood and one from Hilton Honors. My frustration is that I will now not only be competing for FC upgrades with Golds and Platinums (who earned it) but with thousands of "Free Silvers" who - by the way can get Gold for only 5 flights. I NWA trying to tell me that they are more interested in getting new customers than retaining old faithfuls??

There are other benefits of being *just* silver -- 25% bonus of frequent flyer miles, and even if you're in coach at some airports you go through the 'fast' line at security, often you get to preboard (don't even think about asking how much more pleasant that makes stowing carry ons) and there are premium sections of the plane -- usually towards the front etc etc.

Poke around the NW website and you'll see what I mean

Very true - I enjoy many benefits, you missed my point... My point is that I'm extremetly envious of all these hotel rewards members that never had to take a flight period to get that Silver designation. I guess it's selfish to feel that since I had to actually fly the miles, I should get preference for the upgrades.
