tram at msp ?

Does the tram travel along the C gates at MSP? I see tram stops near C1 -C9-C12 and C27. Can I get on at C1 and get off at C 27 for a quick trip to the B gates? Is there a tram that goes from the center of the Northstar Crossing area to the crossway between the G and C gates? My concern is I don't want to go to a different level, just easy access to the gate areas.

It is hard to tell exactly from the map what is happening.

Yes. Yes.

There are three stops for the tram

1) At the beginning of the A gates, and right where the underground tunnel to B gates is

2) Near the crossing over to the G gates (is that Northstar Crossing? I don't pay attention to the names). To use the connector to G gates (and the central garage), take escalator or elevator or steps one flight up

3) At the the beginning of C gates, across from the bookstore (is it Hudson's News?), right by the D gates, and the passageway to the main area with access to E, F and G

Just be careful about getting on the tram going the right direction. There is a completely separate entrance for each direction.

Thanks everyone. I had no idea that each direction had a separte entrance. I have passed through MSP always taking the (sometimes) moving walks and wondered how the tram worked and where exactly it went and how far. Did not see any obvious central signs explaining things. DTW's tram is a no brainer.

My plane has been arriving at either concorse F or G and my connection has been leaving from B4. Taking the tram down the C concourse is the way to go.

This is only tru at the middle station. The end point stations are the same whethere getting off or getting on. The middle station is staggered. Its really not confusing, and well marked, when you get there.

Bumping an old thread because this doesn't warrant a new one, but FYI, the tram on the C concourse is inoperative today for maintenance. There appears to be something wrong with the pulley mechanism but there are workers from Otis on site right now working to fix it.

Hope this helps someone who might be planning on using the tram today as part of their travels.

I hope MSP has fined or otherwise sought some major recourse for that Tram. I remember it running back and forth for over a year trying to get its certifications (that's what the WC people told me anyway) and I've seen it down on a number of occassions since.

Believe it or not, I'm in the terminal quite a lot at MSP. ;) This is the first time I've seen it down (outside of late night ~11pm-5am timeframe) in almost a year.

Didn't really want to start a debate about it, just wanted to warn someone who might have been or might be transiting through MSP today.
