An Observation...

I've noticed a rather large uptick in posts slamming NW coming from posters with post counts of of less than 10 and a quite a few with exactly 1.

I don't spend a lot of time in other airlines forums... is this typical or is NW pissing off so many customers that they are seeking out a forum to gripe?

I would guess that it's a result of NW's product cuts. We've experieced quite a few negative changes in the past several months, and it's adding up and getting to customers.

The post count part is irrelevant. There is a huge lurker base here at FT, and it often takes some event, problem, fare, or just overall change in (dis)satisfaction level to spur a first post and turn a lurker into a contributor.

Perhaps the more paranoid of us prefer not to use our better known (and fairly traceable) ID's for posting negative comments.

Some people are more paranoid than others.

Just new. But now that I am here, and given NWA's history, the posts might be increasing.

The same thing happened at DL when we started the SSM movement..We were slammed. Many were employees.

Seems that airline employees like to play here also.

I'm still in the boat where it's important to discuss with others who share the same interests of those concerns, whether optimistic or negative, regarding Northwest. To me, IMHO, it's a good thing we're getting new members on the Northwest forum, not so much for the reason they're posting, but that they're adding diversity to the community here with different opinions, etc. ^

Always good to get many opinions - good/bad/indifferent as long as they are constructive

A lot of people just like to complain and not look at everything in its proper prespective. Those folks tend to come here and post for a while and disappear. They simply have little to offer or gain from FT. That's fine. We get new members everyday and that is great. I have learned that you always need to be skeptical regarding some of the claims posted here, and that is why asking questions is fair.

NW is going through a rough time and those of us that have been around for a while remember when NW was in much better shape (financially and labor relations). We do remember and place the current state of the airline in prespective. The odd bad experience will happen, that is just the way things go in a business with thousands of employees.

Would you prefer that we didn't? Seems to me that after all the speculation is out of the way, the straight and factual information comes from us. We pretty much stay out of all your rants, are respectful of your web site and usually only reply when asked for our opinion.

I for one am very appreciative of all those whom contribute as one of the two main reasons that visiting FT besides maximizing my mileage earning abilities is maximizing my flight experience.

In these days of cuts having another source of useful up-to-date information is almost vital.

I want to give a big thanks to all NW employees who post here. Your posts are often some of the most informative and interesting! THANKS!

Absolutely not, please come and post. I, for one, love to hear from airline employees here.

I noticed that too and suggest that only people with a post count greater than, say 25, should be allowed to post on ft.

I may be missing something here, but if the suggestion is that a minimum of 25 posts on FlyerTalk be required to post, how would anyone ever get to 25?

You should never have logic get in the way of a good idea!
