In one case, we had made reservations at the same time on different records (two of us were work colleagues, paying separately), and we even had consecutive ticket numbers. Escalated and still denied.

After a discussion with a supervisor on how to get seated together if we're paying separately for work expense purposes, it was suggested that if I really wanted to do this, buy both tickets on the same record, so we can get seated together in the Elite zone. Then, refund my (Elite) ticket only through Customers First. Then buy my ticket again on a separate record with my form of payment.

It seems like a lot of work, and not worth it, though I may try it once just out of spite. They seem to protect the Elite seats as they do spinzels. Good luck getting them...

Thanks for the advice Channa, but I'm just a peon who really only redeems miles with 1 or 2 paid trips per year. Although I am getting close to silver elite on Delta :) due to 5,000 MQMS from the platnium card haha. I'd like to add that the flight looks fairly empty, so your more then likely not going to be screwing over a fellow elite member out of there comfy seat.
