ug using miles
 
can i fly alitalia and upgrade on a "b" fare using miles if i book on nwa.com? or does it not work that way?

I'm pretty sure that you can only use miles to upgrade on NWA, Continental, and KLM only. So the answer to your question of upgrading on Alitalia is "no." Also a "b" fare on Alitalia might not be equivalent to NW's "b" fare...but that's a moot point.

Sad but true. UG using miles is only possible on NW, KL and CO.

anwered my own question. got one more. if i buy a flight on continental.com and its operated by nwa. can i call nwa and use my miles to upgrade? i wish my miles were on co they only charge 40000 to upgrade. and the flight is cheaper than nwa.
