Same Day Upgrade

I was offered the upgrade on the JFK-NRT segment for $400 and foolishly turned it down. Tomorrow I am flying JFK-NRT-SIN so we will see what happens. This time, if offered, I will snap up that upgrade in a heart beat.

It was $75 one way (two flight segments), which is much, much cheaper than purchasing a FC ticket outright. I have also been given the option to upgrade from DTW/MSP to HNL for $300-$400 one way, but never trans-oceanic like others have posted.

My guess is that at least a few people purchsed the upgrade, because at the check-in desk we were told that "things look quite good" for the upgrade -- yet at the gate 45 minutes later, my companion was the last one to clear before the FC seats were full.
