Recent BOB Experience?

Well, looks like an unpromising start to 2005. Im on the Congressmen's specials, DCA-MSP on Friday evening and return Sunday eve. neither upgrade has cleared and they're P1F0 and P0F0.

So planning ahead -- any experience what the BOB is like? should I bring a sandwich?

Buy on Board?

If you do a search my friend - I think you will find that not many FTer's have anything good to say about the $5,7 & 10 food.
Personally I would bring my own. There are so many good places to get togo in MSP

In desperation I purchased an in-flight BOB meal on two separate occasions and was thoroughly disappointed both times. The quality of the food was very marginal and the price exorbitant for what was received. I should have realized this when I ordered them, but I am an eternal optimist. The worst part about the second occasion is that I gave my wife my upgrade and she opted out of the meal.

Chivalry is not dead, just expensive.

(Although it would have been more expensive had I kept the upgrade!)

All the restarants in MSP will pack a sack to take on the plane.

The argument could be made to decline the meal on principle alone.

I had bought the $10 meal and found it okay -- certainly a lot of quantity! I rank it better than having bought McDonald's...

On those rare occasions when I found myself in coach with BOB available, I was very happy with the choices. It beats not getting anything at all, or having to stand in line at a fast food joint only to pay top $ for greasy crap.

Unless a better alternative exists in terminal (and you have time to stop there), BOB is a great program, IMHO.

The SO and I missed upgrade to LAS recently and bought the $7 option. It wasn't great, but was fresh enough and decent. Sandwich on ciabatta bread with packet of potato chips and huge cookie IIRC. To be honest, that's about what it would cost you in the terminal anyway.

Last time I was at BOB was October 2nd for Padres vs. Diamondbacks. It was a good experience, then again, I like BOB. In my experience, the fans at Petco are better (more into the game), but BOB is fun. (BOB = Bank One Ballpark).

The bigger question now is what will BOB be called now that JP Morgan Chase took over Bank One. Chase Field?

Oh wait, you were talking about Buy On Board. Sorry.

Really hard to beat the CPK BBQ Chicken Salad by any of the BOB offerings I've seen. I'm a regular at the F Concourse stopoff.

And I thought BOB was, "Back of The Bus"! :D
