74,999 **2004*Elite Qualifying Miles -- not as bad as it sounds! 2004*Elite Qu

I'm positing because no one not on this board would enjoy this. As of today, I am at 74,999 EQM! In truth, two 500 mile segments have not been posted, but I almost wish I stopped here, so we would know once and for all of they'll give a person a 1 mile bump!

Last segment was yesterday, on a DC9 DTW HPN. So I guess I'll be at 75,999! Not a dream customer for the company, but I MADE IT!

All the best.

Don't sell yourself short. Right now any customer is a dream customer to the airlines.

I agree. I have 75,149 EQM ;)

I strategized and spent a little extra money for 50% bonus, ect. to end at 75,555. Now...I got re-hired at my old job and fly pdx-msp-eau today and would have gotten platinum anyway. I have decided NW should really like me. ;)

I have exactly 75,300, after some serious planning including taking an extra stop at HNL on route to SHANGHAI.

However, it could be 74,800, short of Plat requirement due to a computer glitch in CO system. Usually you only get 50% EQM for cheap fares but if EUA went through then your fare became "R" class and they gave you 100% EQM. I got upgraded on one of my EWR-MSY flight so that gave me about 500 extra EQMs. Damn... CO now fixed this problem :)

Otherwise I would probably write a letter to NW claiming myself as such a loyal customer bringing a lot of revenue to the airline. (That is actually true because in 2004 I spent more than $13,000 on NW exclusively.)

Even Closer....

75,087 2004 Elite Qualifying Miles

It took some careful early December planning to get this close.... I hope Platinum is worth it!

I'll just be making plat with my short mile run on Dec 31st. I'll be at 75k and change.

I think I'm valuable. I could've spent my money elsewhere, but I kept on the program. Shame about the big mile devaluation though.

All the best.

I've missed the mark by 24,000+ miles before and still received the bump.

I gaze every couple days or so at the lovely "75,592 2004 Elite Qualifying Miles" that appeared on my account Dec 8. And today I'm printing out my record just in case the computer goes kerflooey.

Not that a sophisticated airline would have a computer system that would go kerflooley. :p

Also so I won't hyperventilate when the EQM resets to zero.

Happy New Year!

Me too. when it showed "75,300 EQM and Plat Member"

BTW, I have already booked 50,100 EQMs trips for 2005. To get Plat status I must find a conference with funding and do a November/December Z fare mileage run to Asia.

Congrats

I remember when I first qualified PLT on CO a few years ago. Was great to see. Now I'm making a left turn from AA PLT to a comped NW GLD.

Being in MSN, I just got tired of dealing with ORD and the ERJs. I've already taken 2 trips on NW and I'm 8 for 8 in upgrades. Two itineraries next week equals 8 segments, so I'm well on my way to PLT for 2006.

Again, congrats.

Personally I rather enjoy seeing my 50,010 miles for Gold requalification. :D

KezzaKawasaki Dec 29, 2004 3:52 pm

Kezza ends the year with 50463 - down from Platinum in 2004 but even Gold this year was looking a bit dodgy until a spur of the moment weekend MR from NRT>JFK>CDG>BCN and back in November

Flying as a NWA Platinum in 2004 was my best year of travel ever - I appreciated most the waiver on award travel changes, and two NRT>JFK op upgrades :D

Edited to add:

Account now showing
01Mar2004-28Feb2005 Platinum Elite
01Mar2005-28Feb2006 Gold Elite
:( :( :(

I guess squeaking in is the mode here. I wrapped up at the end of November with 75,500 EQM. :D

MJLogan Dec 29, 2004 5:19 pm

76,248 after a long-weekend mileage run LAX-AMS-LHR-AMS-MEM-LAX.
