I'm guessing the answer would be no - It's not a refare because you're changing the airport - and I'm sure the 201 wasn't a refundable ticket - with the change fee, you're probably going to end up spending more to be honest - since it's a change - you may just want to try calling NW reservations - I'm just trying to do MR routing options - seeing what's out there. I'll be at 52K for the year & I probably won't try to go for Plat because I don't think I could pull out another 23K this calendar year.

I wonder if Reservations is down also, or if it is just nwa.com. Does anyone have a URL that gets you directly to the Reservations portion of the website. /s/ basic |
I'm sitting at SJC right now and they had us deplane, saying that NWA has a system-wide crash that won't allow them to to flight planning or ANYTHING throughout their system. They have kicked back an ETA of roughly 9:00am Pacific.
I was wondering if they were yanking our chain, but this seems to confirm things. Steve |
That's a load of crap. The reservation system is still up at http://res.nwa.com. It's just the homepage (www.nwa.com) that's down.
|
Well, i partially take it back. Weird things are afoot at res.nwa.com, too. It said I can't buy an e-ticket within 2 days of departure--for a September 30 flight!
|
I just heard that some co-workers are delayed at DTW because of a NW computer malfunction. I noticed nwa.com was down this morning too. They must be having some kind of tech troubles.

Res is working - grab those SMF fares!
http://res.nwa.com is working.
I just booked DCA-MSP-SMF-MSP-DCA out-and-back on Sept 18 for $130.39. I could have done one of those many-more-segment routings, but it would have meant an overnight stay. Besides, this trip (including those planned for the rest of the year) will put me at 50633 EQMs by the end of the year. Gold again! standing under peace and love, /s/ basic |
Just posted this in the MR Forum:
NW.com is down, but I was able to price out a Saturday departure & Sunday return for 146.50 on Expedia (probably 136.50 on NW.com) with the following routing: WAS-DTW-GRR-MSP-SMF-IAH-GRR-DTW-WAS where the SMF-IAH-GRR segments are on CO - total base miles is 6669, total EQM's is 5343 with total base miles with bonuses being 15K for plats, 13.3K for Gold, 10003 for silver (or .9c/m for plats, 1.0c/m for golds, and 1.3 c/m for silvers) - not a bad deal at all. *** Now that it's back up, I couldn't get a the IAH connections, but I was able to do MSP on the return - 141.50 all-in, all NW metal for a total of about 6036 EQMs & with appliciable bonuses, it's still a really good deal - that's the best routing I could do - it does involve an overnight stay, but you can arrive late night & leave early morning so you could just crash at the airport - I'm looking at this out of IAD with a 6.51 PM arrival & a 6.15AM departure - I did a similar SMF run (straight run, no special routing) back in April for 145 all-in - I got a car for about 17.99 from Hertz & a used a Choice Hotel free night in a suburb of SMF. |
It looks like nwa.com reservations is working.
|
WP account summary is still down. Not having the ability to check whether those flights I took early this week have posted is driving me crazy! Maybe I have problems!!
|
I haven't been able to check in for a flight tomorrow, keep getting that part isn't available.
