Things I haven't seen on Delta in a while
 

Short Masaba Saab TP ride from DAY to DTW.... drinks and snacks
Short (2 Hour) flight DTW to TPA.. real food (choice of sandwich or pasta salad with cheesecake) on cloth place mats with a real (but tiny) knife:)

Upgraded to 1st on every flight since Oct. (except one due to a last minute change)

Upgraded Mrs Mikey on coach award tkt to sit up front with me (actually, she had my seat and they moved me up front on 4 flights)

As an ex-DL FF, I have to agree with your message. Running at a 92% upgrade clip since January 1 (missed on two MSY-MSP 7am flights), I would have never had that high of a upgrade percentage on DL as a SM. I am still amazed at getting a whole can of soda on a 30-45 minute flight. On DL, I'd get a small plastic cup to last a 2 hour flight.

Hopefully gold by the end of June with six months to reach my goal of platinum. Life is good these days. :)

And doesn't it feel good to be able to go into a lavaory and not have your shoes sticking to the floor????????????

I think NW's first class product is lacking as it measures up to DL. I like the full can of soda on NW in coach, and I think the people at the NW counter (at least here in MOB, GPT, and PNS) are very polite.

I've flown NW's FC a few times, all in the last 2 months. I will agree, getting upgraded on DL is ridiculous. It is almost pointless to even try. Hopefully if NW and CO join SkyTeam, I could get upgrades on NW and CO.

But, the availability of flights via MEM are pathetic. You miss your flight due to weather, mechanical delay, or being bumped, be prepared to sit in MEM sniffing BBQ fumes a few hours because NW isn't going to put you on another airline (as DL would) and there is often a large gap between departing flights. No regular service is offered to MSP or DTW near here other than through MSY, about 125 miles from Mobile, AL. I think there is one flight, PNS-MSP, but other than that everything is through MEM.

Comparing the airplanes themselves, the NW planes seem older and more cramped, but they're not as full as DL flights, so you can spread out more. That is probably a toss-up.

I like the codeshare NW has with Alaskan Airlines. DL has pretty limited, and very expensive west coast service (everything through SLC). Who wants to fly LAX-SLC-SFO?

We just don't have a lot of choices here - it is pretty much DL, NW, or CO. If NW only had as many flights as DL had.

I agree with the avoidance of the 50% EQM from EWR... but once you're plat it doesnt matter.. hopefully CO will have to lowere fares making pure mileage plays worth it...

But R/R is there... how long it lasts.. no one knows...

Had my first R/R this week and after seeing the miles post to my NW account and no EQS I now see why people have been upset with the R/R issue. I booked NW flight with NW flight number but on CO metal, so I guess that is why I missed out on the segment. Gonna have to rethink this in my future travel if I am ever gonna make Plat.

On my 5 flights this week, so far I'm only 60% EUA'd being Gold....before it was 100% on the same flights "BR" Before R.....hum..... :confused:
