Oslo Restaurant Idea
 

Looking for ideas for restaurants in Oslo. We will be staying near the Oslo S station, but are willing to travel within the city. We really prefer the local places as apposed to the 'rated' places.

We really love to dine at nice local places and we enjoy all types of food. We really we enjoy trying the local foods.

Thoughts and ideas?

Past trips these places have been some of the most memorable meals we have have.

Last time I went to Oslo, I had lunch at Cafe Skansen which is close to the harbour and Akershus Fortress. It was recommended by the staff at the Park Inn Hotel I stayed at. The food is classic Norwegian with a lot of fresh seafood, and it is near the places of interest so it should work well for tourists. It was one of the more local options that I really liked.

If you're not opposed to food halls, Mathallen is walkable from the city center and has a nice selection of local vendors, though some consider them expensive food courts that do not have the intimate restaurant setting.
